I agree...I just slightly edited my post above...but if Alex is agreeing with Dave...seriously...it's time to go backwards a few steps to move forwards....they should think in terms of 3 records...the first is breaking the cherry....just do 2 months in the studio (new) and see what happens...and then tour (meaning this new record and promotion is DONE) on and off for like 10 months and I mean ON and OFF...not full time....in mid 2014...go in for 3 months and work on a new reocrd...repeat scenario...just get the wheels turning.....that's the key...might as well create until you can't....within 3 years...we'd have a functioning VH unit....Eddie can't do that...it's all a pipe dream...and I just wasted 10 minutes of my life typing all this ****./

I do think that Eddie is still playing the "Dave, you're lucky to be back in the band so you will have to do as I say or else" card, and I think this is the ONLY reason why we haven't heard much negativity in the past 6 years. He is grateful, no doubt. We all know what he was doing before this. But Dave can only bend over so far before he snaps and this interview is the manifestation of that frustration. Now that it's out of the bag, I expect more pointed comments and interviews to come. And this is where Alex needs to step up and iron this sh*t out. I have NEVER heard him ever mediate anything when it came to Dave or Sammy.

I often wonder if he even has a nut sack to call his own. It's like he always stands behind Eddie, blindly agreeing with him, even if he knows that it's going to do harm to the band. Am I the only one that sees this pattern for the last 30 years? Alex could be the savior that this band needs right now.....or Wolfie.

when you are right you are right....as goofy as Dave is on stage..he's trying to find an identity in this band....but to move forward they need to be a team.

good call, master of all things wise!

If Eddie doesn't want to write, then he should call it quits. Why keep playing these games? He always has some kind of excuse not to do any writing, be it real or imagine. It's just odd that after 6 years...not one F*CKING song? Really? I would have expected them to "accidently" write a song by now.......

If Eddie quits, I know a certain Space Man that could fill in nicely.

I like those fancy emoticons  :)  but seriously....if they can't get on a "cycle" of production then they are ****...and there's nothing wrong with having a so/so first record...I know from the inside it seems like this huge deal...the reality is...time is the REAL evaluator or quality.  If the first record they do new isn't so hot...who gives a ****...if 12 months later they have a new record and it's pretty good and the communication is there...even better....now with online they can basically say so easy...hey you know we wanted to just get in there and work off the rust it's been 20 years and we wanted to just get moving...fans would respond.

today it is so much easier to have a direct line to the fans.

I hope they see that.

if not they should hire me as a manager.

:)

If you become their manager, your first official act would be to get Eddie to sign a contract that he has to perform on stage in the Wicked Witch costume. For real!

LL Cool J & Eddie Van Halen: "We're The Greatest" song sample

I think Diamond Dave better start sending out resume's. I bet this isn't sitting well with him with Eddie off guest playing on other people's songs and not writing with Dave. That's gotta burn him.

It's only a matter of time before the REAL VH Reunion kicks in.

well if they can get through the process...Dave is a bit like gene Simmons where a small thing is turned into "this is happening"

so we'll see...but I'd LOVE for it to happen...would like to hear a new evolution for the guys...would be fascinating to see what they could do with say 60-70% new material/

then some new twists on maybe old demos and a cover or two...whatever...as long as it's about 16 tracks or so...maybe an hour of new sh*t would be great

No. I want to see a full album of nothing but songs in the mold of Happy Trails. F*ck guitar solos. A Capella all the way in 2015. Bum-ba-deeda-bum-ba-deeda bum-ba-deeda bum-ba-deeda..................

I would imagine they still have a good chunk of material Eddy has recorded over the last 30 or so years...they are basically going to have to "mine" all that stuff...make sure they aren't Sammy written stuff which there's a GREAT chance Eddy will have NO clue who wrote what he was so screwed up that entire time...but I think that is where they will start...and maybe 4 or 5 brand new tracks...maybe a few more...works for me though.

I like to hear the guys together and what magic they create when they do.

as a matter of fact...I am going to listen to the last record right now...while I wait for the Charger game!
