Velvet Revolver (Libertad) 2007

Libertad is actually the album I was expecting from
Velvet Revolver when I got their debut
Contraband. Overall
Libertad is a much stronger album and it all starts with the writing. The songs themselves are infinitely more infectious and they sound better as well. Even though it doesn't have any of the bigger power ballads from the first album, this is just a great kick ass album that really showcased how strong they were are as a unit and left it opened to just how good and big
VR could become. Unfortunately (for the time being) this is their swan song....er, album, now that
Scott Weiland is back in
STP and
Slash is doing his own thing. What does it say about an album when I can say that I like their "country" song
Don't Drop That Dime? A lot apparently when I hate country music in general. By the way, the song is a hidden track, so it's not listed on the back cover.
Fave Songs: Every last m o t h e r f u c k i n ' one of them.
The Last Fight gets top billing for me here.
