Mascara & Monsters - Alice Cooper

The Godfather of rock stage shows. OK, I'm not a die hard fan, but love his hits. Lots of memories trying to restore back to my collection. It is missing one of my fav's... Ballad of Dwight Fry. For the most a solid collection.

I saw his 'Greatest Hits' tour when the first collection came out. Amazing show and total blast. So glad I got to see him and the band.

I'm not a fan by any means but she did sing one of the greatest songs evah

And honestly, I think the video is amazing in it's simplicity.

Anyway picked it up to replenish my collection. Maybe just maybe something more will catch my attention.

Grand Funk Railroad - We're an American Band

Checking this out again because the Band is coming to town. I haven't listened to this since my vinyl days. It's not one of their better products. Obviously the stand out is the phenomenal title track, but beyond that, it's pretty forgettable.

I really like the hits and always wanted to see the band. Well come to find out the band kicked our their founder Mark Farner. I mean he's the meat and talent of the group. To me, it's a tribute band now. Oh well.

I got this when it came out, but I have been juggling so much stuff lately that I needed to find time where I could really listen to this while I had some down time. I didn't want to put this on when I was working and run the risk that it became background noise while focusing on work stuff.

FYI, I find it funny you still think she is your girlfriend when everyone knows that she is mine in mind, body and soul.

XXX- Asia



I like Asia, but I like the hits of Asia. There hits for a reason. Any and all groups put out filler or mediocre tunes. Unfortunately XXX just seems to be all filler. Asia has a definite sound and it's all here, but nothing stands out at all as killer. None of it is bad, it just all seemed to blend into the background for me.

I've said John Wetton have one of the best voices in the rock world. Strong, distinctive. I think it's less so for this release. Pick it up for a listen if you're an Asia fan.

Between the Lines: Sara Bareilles - Live at the Fillmore

Sara Bareilles has a very laid back poppy voice that is so smooth. She's a true talent that not only sings, but plays piano and guitar in her concerts. This performance was a very intimate set on a small stage with the band pretty much in the background. But the band and her make the team. She writes the songs and they do the rest. Beautifully photographed. The sound was flawless. The acoustic numbers were fine, though I prefer the full band.

The Way It Was - Parachute



Based off solely, instantly loving Something to Believe In, did I pick these guys up to see what else they can do. While a decent quazi-pop/rock album, nothing jumped out at me. I do know Something to Believe In has something extra going for it. Maybe it was spreading their wings, try bring other musical elements, the gospel choir. It does really stand out from a rather OK album. I'll latch onto the single, but beyond this album is a bust.
