Unorthodox Jukebox - Bruno Mars



I've been a fan of Bruno Mars before I realized who he was. Supporting acts like B.o.B and Travie McCoy propelled Bruno Mars to notoriety. IMO, he has one of the freshest musical styles of late. Bruno Mars sophomore outing with Unorthodox Jukebox is as expected. Exciting, fun, consistently excellent music while at the same time balancing a whole host of styles with Big Band, Reggae, R&B and Rock. His voice is smooth as ever. I've only listened to this once, but was never disappointed with any of the tracks. My favorite standout is Moonshine.

While I like some electronic band stuff, I had never heard of this guy until I saw a very extended Cloud Atlas trailer with one of the songs from this album. The combination of visuals and the music was excellent. The music by itself, not so much.

The rest of the album is very much eclectic and different one song from the next. Couldn't get into it. I'm not going to rate it because it wasn't for me. It did well on the charts though when released in 2011.

Live at the Royal Albert Hall - The Who



Meh.... I have pretty high standards with music, and that goes for live music as well. I don't care what band it is, I expect to hear things clearly and recorded well. With a band like the Who, there is so much lost in a live recording... at least on this CD. Could be I'm sooooo use to the studio stuff, I just expect it.

No. Not bad... Just not damn near perfect. There's no reason to listen to these tracks, when they are not recorded as well as studio, have lots of crowd noise, and in this recording, a lot of guest artist. If I was a real Who fan, I'd probably love it, because it would be different than the stuff before.
