The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get - Joe Walsh

I've been a fan of Joe Walsh from the beginning of his solo days. I had this album in vinyl and probably wore it down to a slinky. It doesn't hurt that it has one of the greatest rock songs ever with Rocky Mountain Way, but the there are several other staples on here as well.

Meadows rocks, There is an element of Jazz with Midnight Moodies, a couple of ballads. What's missing is his signature orchestral pieces he later started to incorporate in his releases.

Not all songs are good, but since most of the songs are short, you'll get through it quickly or just pop through it.

Then why would we care to what your listening too?

Just blurting out you're listening or watching to Blah Blah Blah means nothing to anybody.

12.12.12

12.12.12 is a pristine recording with very little audience noise (yaaa) and only highlighting that artists are sometimes not perfect on their performances. I remember watching this and found that far more entertaining to visually watch the performances. Also since I really, really like only about half the artists, I find justifying owning this whole production not in my interest. I'll just record a couple of songs because they are slightly different than the studio version I already have.

Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

I don't recall the Kill Bill soundtrack filled with a lot of movie dialog. WTF, every other track is moments from the movie. Then the songs are OK. Maybe it makes more sense to watch the movie first...

This is explicit and the N word is used in song and dialog, so yea, I won't be buying this, no less recording much of it.

I'm not gonna rate it. I'll watch it when it comes out and return to this later.

The Very Best Of Atlanta Rhythm Section

Can we say in unison.... RIPOFF. I heard an ARS song a while ago which prompted me to check out a greatest hits. I found this faux turd. But ya can't blame me for choosing this one. If you do a search on ARS, You will find 10X more albums of collections, hits, etc, then they ever put out. Apparently some of the members, whether original or not, re-recording the hits of ARS. I have yet to find this a good idea. Styx most recently did it for whatever reason and I think it's just a stupid move.

These are ARS songs and do sound somewhat like the originals, but there is some serious magic missing here. This might as well be a cover band record. I breezed through this in about 8 minutes. Just can't take off-shoots of the music I know and love.
