The Church - El Momento Descuidado

The Church - Under The Milky Way has been always one of my all time favorite songs. I never tire of it. The other day while listening to Pandora I heard this acoustic version. Come to find out the band has put together not one but two albums of their music stripped down. El Momento Descuidado containing the acoustic version of Under The Milky Way. I've been a fan for the most part on the unplugged versions of songs. To me it's not only a different perspective, but shows how well a strong is written by being played raw.

the original studio version. I would love for my band to tackle this song.

Quintin Tarantino's Soundtracks

Recently watching Django Unchained, as usual, I noticed the music throughout the movie. Tarantino has a great knack for music and his well of music must be massive. So I've been slowly going through them and snatching up some of the tracks that stand out and I connect with. BUT for some reason, I guess it's Tarantino making some of the decisions, but they all contain dialog tracks sprinkled through the CD. I don't get it.

Anyway Django Unchained has a couple of key songs that I just love. Freedom by anthony hamilton & elayna boynton

More Quintin - Death Proof

There are some key scenes in Death Proof that are captured by the music so well.

Baby it's You by Smith is one of the iconic dance scenes. The original band here....

MS MR - Second Hand Rapture

I don't know what exactly it is about this group, but I just love most of the songs, the extensive percussion (that seems to be more prevalent in songs of late) and well, Lizzy Plapinger's voice is just phenomenal.

Hurricane - MS MR

but I heard Fantasy first and it caught my attention very quickly.

You know I'm a HUGE fan of Tarantino's movies, but just as important as his written word is of course his song choices which brings something entirely different to a scene. You're spot on with what you've posted so far.

The Raspberries - Go All The Way

I have to thank Eddie Trunk for this one who talks on the latest episode of That Metal Show, about his first song he remembered hearing. Yes, I know who The Raspberries are, but I've never sought out to check them out till not. Love the song. Great melody.

The Raspberries - Go All The Way

From what I remember, that was their only hit (despite the greatest hits CD)  ;D

Go All the Way pretty much reminds me to play in my mind 5 Man Electrical Bands - Absolutely Right.
Has similar grungy guitar.

Trying to sort through my big playlist of "The Kills" (and several other unsorted playlists I've been letting sit on my iTunes), but I keep going back to this one.

I do need to go on a hunt for more new music soon.

Bret Michaels - Jammin' With Friends Negative (is that possible? Negative nothing?)

Thanks Bret for one of the worst record projects evah. I am still literally in awe how bad Jammin’ With Friends is. Where do I begin. Let me start off by saying, I’ve been a fan of Poison pretty much from the beginning. All 4 members bring an ingredient and talent to the band to make Poison stand out. Including the pretty awesome voice of Michaels.

None of that to be found here. I can only think Michaels is either wasted or stroking in own ego and not aware. He actually talks one song. Many of others, he barely gets into singing, if that’s what you can call it. The recordings are abysmal. The whole thing sounds like a teenage garage band recording anything that they attempt to play. The guest artists (Loretta Lynn, Jimmy Buffett, Edwin McCain, Miley Cyrus, Michael Anthony and many more) definitely do not raise the level, but in fact make the head implode with a huge WTF.

Worse is his attempt to reinterpret his Poison music with a country perspective. Holy gawd, what a cluster. I cannot express how bad this is. I know I’ve reviewed albums, especially pop stuff, I made an attempt to at least a listen, despite it not being on my radar… thus shagging it pretty badly. This is just horrendous for any ear.

Haha. Awesome! Even though this is the first I'm hearing about the existence of this album, I kinda knew this was going to be a "country" album. Well, his attempt at one. Your opinion of this is about the same as I had with Bon Jovi's attempt in a different genre. I don't know why these Hard Rock / Metal bands are trying to reinvent the wheel. Stick to what you know and you won't risk alienating your fans that kept you around all these years. Do you reeeeeeeeeally want to bite the hand that literally STILL feeds you by doing something like this? So late in ones career that they want to "cross over" to the other side. You're not going to win any new fans and you drive away the old ones, how's that gonna look in your bank account? Exactly.

The thing is I don't think this Jammin is that crossover to country Michaels has been talking about. That country album is still yet to be done.

This is just a lazy hemorrhoid of his past work. If I was the band, I would be sooooo incredibly pis sed.

No idea where to put this.  But seriously, you take this, you mix in some Weird Al style stuff, imagine what could come out the other end...

It's fine in this thread. But you might want to check out some of Mac's threads that are more specific, be it 'Great Videos' or 'Funny Videos'.

The title of the video is "Christina Bianco Diva Impressions 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart'" you can do a search for that or just her name and it should be the first video to pop up.
