Irons in the Fire – Redlight King
Irons in the Fire is the sophomore follow up to
Something for the Pain. I think the planets were aligned when I discovered Redlight King. They are heavy grunge rock band at times immersed in Hip-hop. It’s definitely a unique sound, but I pretty much liked all of Something for the Pain.
I was excited to hear about the follow-up. Always on the outlook for something more than the usual crap being put out.
Irons in the Fire is pretty much a carbon copy formula. Kind of like
Nickelback. Found a sound and use it for every song. Unfortunately, most of the songs are mediocre at best. I wound up only ripping one song off this collection. Born to Rise. Irons in the Fire is still a well produced song, but for me it would be just a repeat of what I already own. I’ll pass on it, but would recommend if you’re looking for new material.
