OK then... It makes sense, the 'original' band has not existed for a very long time, despite a ARS band currently touring.

Atlanta Rhythm Section was considered one of the bigger southern rock band in the 70's. They had some enormous hits like "Doraville", "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight", "Champagne Jam", "So Into You" and "Imaginary Lover". I love their take on the classic "Spooky". That was a result of one of the band members being part of the original artist Classics IV. The members were originally studio artists that decided to get together and form a band. They had the classic duel guitar leads like Lynyrd Skynrd and Molly Hatchet, but they had a sound that was less southern, more smooth, mellower and pretty catchy. Live... they would  rock the house.

Here's a few tracks of the real band playing...

My favorite tune... Another Man's Woman... It's kind of like Lynyrd Skynrd's Freebird, building in all out jam.

Here's a little bit of odd trivia concerning ARS. Back in the day when radio stations played vinyl, a DJ accidentally had it on the 45 setting of playing a 33 RPM record. Suddenly Stevie Nicks voice can be heard. This YouTube presents it very well. Even the signature Stevie Nicks warble is present.

I remember one station playing the whole song, just because they could and it sounded like Stevie Nicks. Some people still don't believe it. Those folks will say Stevie made a recording.

I may have heard some of their songs on the radio back in the day, but as for the name of the band or even the titles of songs....nada.

The Next Day - David Bowie

I'm a mild David Bowie fan. I really like some of his material. Most of it, I don't.

The Next Day is getting rave reviews. From critics and fans alike. I myself find only one song on here palatable. The rest are not easy to swallow. They tend to be chaotic pieces that I can't find myself getting into. The rhythms are off and very different.

I know I'll never listen to this again. It was that apparent, this album was not my cup of tea.  :-\

Shock Value II - Timbaland

I picked Shock Value up strictly to find anything Esthero. She is featured on one song, so I snapped it up. Putting the disc into the player only sank my heart within a few notes. Timbaland is nothing but pre-manufactured music with lots of autotune and massive amounts of bass. Not that I don't like bass, but this is so ramped up with Bass, it just becomes noise.

That was the first song, so onto the next. Good gawd. More of the same. In fact, I wasn’t sure if it even advanced because it sounded so much like the first. The 3rd song… more crap. Screw this, so I go to the song that features Esthero.

No surprise with the crap music, but I couldn’t even hear her singing.

This is just crap music for the masses that evaporates as soon as it ends.

Well, it never really developed into anything either

Timbaland is geared strictly toward dance music. So, I was kinda shocked to see YOU with this in your hand. As a Producer, I think he is great and I don't mind the occasional song of his as a singer. Personally, I think his best stuff has been with Nelly Furtado.

Like I said, I didn't know what I was walking into.

I think there was a Nelly song on there. Don't matter, couldn't listen to this more than a minute anyway.  :-\

Listening to Pandora via Roku on my TV as I work. I have a handful of User-created Channels and the one that I'm current playing is of course P!nk. Although I wish that I could create it specifically to play just her stuff only, I don't mind the random songs that finds its way into the channel when they are good.

Listening to Pandora via Roku , more specifically my Michael Jackson created Channel. What's odd is that the first song that comes on is the Bee Gee's Stayin' Alive. Go figure.

Has anyone experience Pandora playing the same song twice inside of 10 minutes? This is the second time they have played The Jackson 5 Who's Loving You. I don't object to this at all, as it's my all time favorite from J5. I was just wondering if this is the norm for Pandora or an anomaly.
