Paint Shop Pro
« on: June 09, 2014, 06:09:49 am »
Guys,

Best Buy's deal this week has Paint Shop Pro X6 Ultimate on sale for $40 (though amazon has it normally at that price)

I used PSP quite a bit back in the day and I think it would not be to difficult to get back into it. I think anything more is overkill and beyond my means.
There's been the occasional thing I want to do with graphics where it would have been handy.
Thankfully Chip has come to my rescue on multiple events and got what I was looking for.

I still have more ideas I'd like to tackle, and I need to just pick it up and run with it, so thinking PSP is the best choice.

Thoughts?

What exactly are you trying to work on? Personally I've never used the program, so I don't know what it can and can't do. But if there is a specific type of project in mind and there is an alternative, I can steer you in the direction if it's easier. But if you already know your way around the program, you may not even have to look any further. The closet program I use to the one mentioned above is Corel Painter. But I don't know the differences they have between the two.

It's pretty simple stuff like I've asked you to do.

Manipulate pictures some. Fades, burns, apply some graphic elements. Add some text. Modify the text. Cut and paste etc.

If you have knowledge of the program and you're comfortable with it, I'd say get it. $40 is good by any standards and is better than spending $500 on a program.
