I'm always dubious when it comes to Fan-Made
Star Wars films. Sure, some do a great job on one or two asepects of their respective films, but they are generally forgettable as soon as the credits role. When it comes to
Darth Maul: Apprentice, they finally produced something worthy of discussion. Granted, this isn't a film that is going to be remembered for it's dialogue. When you think of
Star Wars, you are expecting action and in
DMA, that's exactly what we get here. This is essentially a 17 minute light saber duel. Damn good choreography from start to finish. Some kick-ass aerial shots (using a drone, obviously). The music was good too. But the film hinges on the actor who plays
Darth Maul. I swear, they must have found
Ray Parks twin because I have never seen anyone come close to looking like the original
DM and this guy OWNS it. He is the spitting image of
Ray/Darth. I highly recommend you check this out. It's a good "origin" story to boot and feels right at home in the
Star Wars Universe. Pun intended.
