What an amazing looking movie, and to see it on the big screen was just fantastic.  Except for the insane strobing effect, god d*mn.  Anyway, you lucky dogs, the whole thing is on Vimeo to watch and here it is:

This is one of the best looking rotoscoped movies that I can recall seeing, way less off-putting than Scanner Darkly where the background kept slipping around).  It reminds me of the manga Pluto (I kept thinking that this is what it would look like in motion) and the faces of meth made me think of the Gorillaz.  It would be REALLY interesting to see a full-length movie done in this style, but I'm not sure if there's enough of an audience for it.

Beautiful. I like the execution and I get your take on the Gorillaz.

I'm going to sound like an idiot. Was that his child hood friend? If so, did both recognize each other?

I wondered that myself... I wonder fi the ambiguity is intentional, the years of drugs and just a horrible lifestyle could have warped him into an unrecognizable, desperate fiend.

And it could be worse, I saw a film that was all flashbacks and flash forwards and didn't know until I saw the credits ("Young BIll" and "Present Bill").  It's not like they made it remotely clear.
