Re: Boxing's Greatest and Most Controversial Matches

Boxing is dead and has been since Holyfield Vs. Tyson II. Ever since that ear biting debacle, there really hasn't been a Heavyweight fight of merit. By the time Tyson Vs. Lewis rolled around, nobody cared anymore. I did try to get into Vitali & Wladimir Klitschko as possible contenders that could rejuvenate the division. But with the amount of  s h i t t y  fights they were setting up (i.e. handpicked fights that were guaranteed winners), I bailed on them and Boxing once and for all.

I moved onto MMA / UFC and for awhile it was refreshing. It was different. And then....I bailed on that too. I think because there is too much turnover with the "Championship" belt that there is no history and will never be any history. The belt changes from fight to fight so they can't really groom someone to be the "face" of the sport like a Tyson, Holyfield or Ali were. What does it say about the sport when Tito Ortez is the face of MMA and he has a pretty weak overall record and hasn't done  s h i t  in years? I may watch an MMA fight here and there, although its been probably a year or more since I last watched one, I will never feel about MMA the way I did and still do about Boxing.

That brings me to this thread. The reason why I started this thread is that I recently gotten back into Boxing. Not in it's current state, but a nostalgic remembrance of some of the greatest fights I've ever witness. And since there are believe it or not a handful of fights I haven't seen and have forgotten the outcome of, I will have a nice bag of fights to revisit.
