HARRISBURG -- Penn State officials were less than cooperative with the child sex abuse investigation that now-Gov. Tom Corbett conducted when he was attorney general, the governor said Thursday.

Corbett said he was commenting after reading two-thirds of the Louis Freeh report criticizing PSU leaders for covering up an assistant coach's child sexual abuse.

The report that Freeh, the former FBI director, issued last week said Penn State’s former leadership -- including president Graham Spanier, football coach Joe Paterno, athletic director Tim Curley and vice president Gary Schultz –- covered up the child sex abuse of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky for 14 years.
