The Ranch (Netflix)

a review

Man, I walked into The Ranch blind and it hit me with a sneaky punch.

I did not care for this at all. We turned the pilot on and watching the intro, was intrigued. Ashton Kutcher walks into the house and meets Danny Masterson. Hey, look, That 70's Show reunion. Some talk and then suddenly canned laughter out of nowhere. Not this subliminal canned stuff. In your face canned laughter. It was weird and awkward and I just had not time for it. We watched 10 minutes without a single good joke.

Pass!!!!

I got through one scene... maybe half a minute longer than I lasted through Fuller House.  This was awful.  Not just the sitcom-i-ness of it, I think I could still like a new sitcom, but this didn't look like a sitcom, it looked like a movie, the opening titles looked like a drama, and it was so mean.  A sitcom is supposed to make you feel good, these people were horrible to each other.  Sam Elliot in particular just came off as horribly cruel, especially when the curse words started.
