Ace Frehley (Live In Danbury - November 9, 1995 - Just For Fun Tour)
The quality of this show leaves a lot to be desired. There are parts where the sound drops out completely. Not sure if it was technical problems with
Ace's guitar or if it's just a bad copy of the tape with drop outs. Whatever the case may be, it was pretty annoying. Also, I'm not a fan of medley's and having
Ace do that for
Insane, Trouble Walkin', Rock Soldiers, Speedin' Back To My Baby and
Hard Times was not cool at all. Those songs deserve the full treatment. Also, I hated the way that
New York Groove sounded. It was horrible and opening the song with an out-of-tune bass derailed the song from the beginning.
I did like
Ace having
Peter Criss come out to sing a duet with him on
Strange Ways, Nothin' To Lose and
Rock And Roll All Nite, but even that was mired in f*ck ups when
Peter forgot the words to
Rock And Roll All Nite. Ouch. Even with all of these problems, I'd still watch this show again. Well, I would watch the part of the show where it's
Ace. But once it gets into the Bass Player and the other Guitar Player taking over the set, it becomes ridiculous and sophomoric with his playing "ability".
