P!nk: The Truth About Love Tour - November 11, 2013 - Scottrade Center

Whew… found them. We had pretty good seats. Slightly elevated and and about 30 feet from the stage.

OK, going to P!nk’s concert  was the best and worst I’ve been too. Let me get the bad outta of the way. Some of P!nks fans are the most obnoxious people in the world. Surrounded by them and made me question if it was all over the arena.

Directly in front of us was a ‘Hip’ guy and his rather large wife/girlfriend. He petered out with his over the top dancing, half way through the show, thank gawd. She on the other hand stood the entire time. I stood a good part of the show, but sat for the many ballads.  Rhino woman was the only person standing the entire time…. Directly between me & P!nk. WTF.

But the people behind take the prize of being utter asses through the entire show. A guy felt he had to be the funny man with constant  loud comments, but his girlfriend screamed as loud as a woman can every chance she got. WTF. The kicker is they (younger people) talked the entire time of the quiet songs. WTF.... seriously WTF.

I get it. It was a very festive event, and I know every event have those A.H., but why did I have to be within arms length of these jerks.

Now the good stuff. P!nk’s performance is probably one of the best concerts I’ve ever witnessed. Behind Pink Floyd and Elton John. She is the modern day Freddie Mercury. Curtain raises and she literally shot out from beneath the stage floor up about 30 feet doing cirque du soleil trapeze moves with “Raise Your Glass”. Unforgettable.

The stage was like a Broadway set with lamp posts and tiers and video screens everywhere. The light show was decent… not amazing. My Girlfrien…. Er, P!nk changed clothes just about every song. She looked amazing.

P!nk’s energy was kinetic, electric and unending. She also quickly made a connection with the audience. She is what I think of when I think of entertainers. She thoroughly was enjoying herself and embracing the audience. The band was tight. The dancers were awesome. 5 women and 3 men.  They too performed high wire stunts with P!nk. I just don’t know how P!nk sings and performs those stunts like that.

Her set was all hits and mixed it up quite nicely with rockers, anthems and ballads.

At one point between songs, the videos did a very quick (1 minute) evolution of her life, from a child, teen and getting into the recording business. I found it fascinating to see her change. Becoming a mom has changed her dramatically. She at one point talked to a little girl…. Very cute, and then told the audience as much as she wanted to perform songs with the F bomb (F**** Perfect), she is holding back.

P!nk ended the show with a mind blowing fly around the entire arena performing So What. I was stunned. In a harness that propelled her up to just about any airspace she wanted, she floated above the entire crowd, sometimes within hands reach. Twisting and turning. And she was singing her lungs our for crying out loud.

Again unforgettable.

Here's a taste...
