Eddie Murphy to Host Oscars

Very interesting choice in who will be hosting the show. If this was vintage SNL Murphy, this would be huge. But now, it's just comes off as a fading star (or should I say, "once mighty star?")looking to jump start his career. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of his, but this just feels so out of left field for the sake of "shocking" people into watching the Oscars.

Job well done. I'll be checking this out just to see what he does and how far he takes it.

Although I was curious what Eddie Murphy would do as a host, I am stoked that Billy Crystal is returning as host now that Eddie has dropped out. The last great run for the Oscars was when Billy was running the show. I am definitely tuning in this year to see if he can bring the magic back one more time. You KNOW it's gonna be good this year, even if the movies were...meh.
