The List included in the above Poll is subjective. There may be specific Charlie Chaplin movies that you prefer. But for this particular Poll, I tired to include what I think are the best of the best. There are a lot of short 1-2 reels that I'm very fond of and could be included. But for now, this is the List as I see it.

Don't wait for me to review each individual film to chime in. Let's hear what your favorite Chaplin film is and why. For me it always comes down to The Kid, City Lights, Modern Times and The Great Dictator. I will have to once again, watch these films at my leisure before deciding. Ugh. This is going to be difficult. Again. I'm leaning toward City Lights, but I may end up going with The Kid. Stay tune.

As mentioned in the last post, it came down to City Lights and The Kid. But in the end, I had to go with City Lights because to me, it has one of the all time greatest endings to any movie. It's left ambiguous for the viewer to decide what happened next. But I will say this, The Kid was so close to being in the top spot and on a different day it may have taken that spot. But for today...it's City Lights.

I honestly have not seen many Chaplin Movies, so I'm pretty biased on my choices, but I do remember Modern Times pretty clearly.

Modern Times is a fantastic movie and probably has the most iconic image associated with him outside of his cane and derby hat with the Gear wheels he gets to ride in the movie. I'm gonna bust out my DVD box set and review each movie separately as it's been awhile since the last time I watched them. Do yourself a favor Mac, if you want something along the lines of a refresher course on the man and his movies, you can't go wrong with Unknown Chaplin. I'm pretty sure you can find a copy at your local library.

I think I may just bust that out first before the set. Both are phenomenal.

Have you ever checked out Chaplin? It's been a while since I've seen it. Really don't recall much about it. Don't know if it's me or the movie.

Yeah, I've seen the movie quite a few times. This was the movie where we finally get to see that Robert Downey Jr. could act. And did he ever! His Oscar nomination was justified.

Top 10 Movie Monologues

As with all Mojo Top 10 List, I always try to guess who will be in the #1 spot before watching the video. In my mind, I had chosen A Few Good Men. Not only was it not the #1 pick, it wasn't anywhere in the Top 10 or the Honorable Mentions list. But when they revealed that Charlie Chaplin held the honor for his moving speech in The Great Dictator, I couldn't have agreed more. Whenever I watch the movie, its this scene that I'm waiting for.
