So I'm in the minority who likes high frame rates, which as you can imagine is a pretty unpopular opinion.  Well, I feel a bit vindicated finding out Douglas Trumbull agrees.  He does think motion smoothing is garbage, but his explanation for higher frame rates for clearer pictures (and the steps he's taken throughout the years to make it real) is quite fascinating.


I admit that some of this went right over my head, but that whole switching between eyes thing he goes on about... I definitely felt that.  I love 3D but that would explain the headaches.

Also, I love that this means that Trumbull wants to make movies again.  This process looks amazing and not only do I want to make a movie in it, I know which movie I'd do.
