Gene Wilder (1933-2016)
« on: August 29, 2016, 12:51:29 pm »

Variety (and a lot of other places) are reporting that Gene Wilder has passed away at age 83.

Somehow I was surprised by this... he was 83 and had Alzheimers.  But it continues the streak of 2016 taking away everyone we like.

It also occurred to me now that just about everyone in Young Frankenstein is now gone... just Mel Brooks and Gene Hackman are left.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

He was and is and will always be one of my all time favorite film comedians. Love, love, love Young Frankenstien and Silver Streak, which are still tops in my book when it comes to Comedies. RIP Mr. Wilder and thanks for all the the laughs over the years. You are now reunited with Gilda.

Good Lord, this is so weird.
Loved Wilder and his work. I heard nothing but greatness about his private life.

84... you know, I have a sense of dread about who we may lose next.  2016 knows no pity.
