What was the official name of the Drive-in in PB? I can't remember it at all. Memory......failing.

Twilight....kinda sounds like it could have been. But I wouldn't quote me on it.

I actually read that article about 6 months ago and there were a lot of inaccurate stuff in there. Some of the pics that they had as belonging to PB and Midway were in fact not. Not sure if they have corrected those.

Other news, I tried doing a search for other theaters from my childhood that I wanted to revisit: UA Glasshouse and Mann Theater near Sports Arena and the original Clairmont Theater. Also looked for UTC Mann Theater, but I couldn't find anything on those.

Dude, what was the name of the theater that was in La Jolla across from that Old White Church? It was just off of Pearl Street. I think it was Pearl.

Good call on Pacific Drive-In. It was too obvious that I began questioning it's legitimacy. Bah!!

was bummed when they closed the Cove.

I was really hoping La Jolla as a community would realize the importance of keeping an old landmark.

but nope.

now it's a furniture store as you said,  that sells...pretty ugly stuff mostly.

I don't put much stock in what La Jolla does. They save those 2 Red Houses by the Cove (not the theater, but just off the park down by the shores) as National Landmarks and then let sit alone collecting dust. They don't even bother to do anything with the landscape to make it at least presentable.

If there was one thing worth saving in La Jolla, it was the Cove Theater. I may not have gone to a lot of movies at the particular location, but it was always a thrill for me to see it when I went by it on foot or by car. It was nice knowing that it was still there.

yeah those red shacks just sit...it would cost so little to do some proper landscaping around them...they have been sitting and rotting the last 17 years...I know because I used to walk past them every day when I worked in La Jolla...it's pretty disgusting how cheap rich people are

:)
