Cinepolis luxury theater chain is expanding and dang do those look seats look nice. Though I wonder if I'd be willing to pay 20 bucks a ticket for leather seats, menu service... I don't drink so the bar service doesn't really mean anything to me, but at the same time, the liquor laws in my state will determine if one of these opens near me and if it does well.
And honestly, having seen two movies in two days, as much as the luxury experience would be neat, once the movie starts, I'm in the movie. i don't really think about the chair I'm sitting in (just if it's in the right spot), and 2 hours and change isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. It's not a seat in an international flight. I'd certainly be willing to try, and I'm sure the actual EXPERIENCE will inform my opinion far more than anything else. So we shall see. Still, interesting news. Americans on average see four movies a year, so the idea of making that a luxury experience makes sense. But they also complain about the high prices, and this sounds like more than usual. Will the benefit outweigh the cost? It'll be interesting to see.
