Fantastic Four reportedly joining Marvel Cinematic Universe, movie set for 2020

Now maybe we can finally get a proper FF movie. I'm still waiting to check out the 'Flop' on DVD, mind you.

I think that rumour's been disproved.  Just more hopeful fanboy-slobbering.  Even if Marvel got the FF rights, they're way too busy and locked-down with plans to make an FF flick in the near future (which is fine, the franchise needs to go away for a while).

Fantastic Four (2015)

So, I figured that since we have gone into great detail in picking apart Fantastic Four already in this thread, I might as well put my review here. It's not going to be long or in depth because there's really not a whole lot to talk about. I will say that the movie isn't as bad as most have made it out to be. Well, correction, it's not the worst movie I've seen. There are plenty of films that take the title in that department. But yeah, FF has a lot of troubling issues for sure. It's dull, lifeless, boring and most shockingly, aimless. I really don't know what they were trying to do here. Even though I've heard a lot of negative stuff about the movie, I was still able to avoid most, if not all the spoilers. The biggest issue I have is how the movie seems to be going one way and then the 3rd Act happened and totally changed the direction. It's literally another movie being introduced without really finishing what they were kind of doing in the first two acts. Another problem I had beyond flat characters, was the Special FX. There was nothing special about it and in some cases it was atrocious. With that said, the one thing that I did like about FF was The Thing's new look. It's not cheesy as I expected to be. Can't recommend this at all. Not even for Comic Book fans. Skip

Possibly relevant, my take on trying to fix the Fantastic Four franchise.

It's an old one.

I feel like... I have no desire to see and analyze Fant4stic at all... like, I know I would get nothing out of it, not even interesting notes or a "what might I do?" type thing?  I honestly think in a year, no one will remember that the movie even exists.

Add this to the "wish I thought of that/wish this was real" pile.
