Just read this rather interesting article in The Atlantic about The Decline Of The American Actor.

The article explores the phenomenon of how many British/foreign actors play Americans now (I remember how hard it was for Marvel to find an American Captain America), why that is, how the learning curve is different over here than over there... it tied together a couple different stray concerns I've had about movies and finds a common root to them.

Worth a read, I think.
