No sh*t, huh? Doesn't make sense. But then again, I never earned a degree in stupidity that would have gotten me a job at any of the Networks.

We've talked about the stupidity of networks on regular basis. Iím starting to see articles on the future of networks. With the change in viewing habits with streaming, online and over half of TV viewers subscribing, I would think the networks would start to get a lot smarter on their product. The Networks numbers are declining all the time with them getting a smaller and smaller slice of the pie.

Iím seeing (so you know the networks are seeing) people getting tired of reality shows, or they want to push it further to a very specific kind of reality show. Thatís why you have a million different kind storage shows, or junk shows, or relationship shows. The slices of pie get smaller and smaller.

I would think it crazy or brilliant that a network would experiment like this.

Bottom line, I would think it insane for a network not do anything. If they continue with the same old business model, they will be history. It doesnít take much to look back at companies that no longer exist because they were not reactive or proactive.

One of the biggest head scratching moments for me recently regarding Networks is CBS of all things. For the most part, they are probably my favorite Network as far as getting content to the viewers any way they can. But even they are shortsighted. They are the only one of the Big 5 Networks that will not allow Hulu to carry any of their shows which cuts off a major chunk of potential eyes that could get their products.

So why do I like CBS? Well, for starters, they air their new episodes on their site as fast as half an hour after the initial broadcast on TV. This is incredibly fast. NBC will air the following day as does ABC. FOX will not air any of their new episodes until 8 days later. Dumb. FX and AMC refuse to air anything online. Dumber.

A&E shocked me by airing the complete run on Bates Motel on their site. Still won't let Hulu host. But I will take A&E hosting if that's my only option.

But the biggest shocker for me is CBS refusing to air any episodes of Person of Interest (after Season 1). They won't even host it on their own frickin' website. In spite of this, the show is thriving and is one of the most popular series going for CBS right now. How is this possible? Because they aired all of Season 1 on their site and people found it and stuck with it. So, I think it's pretty telling that if the content is made available online, it can and will succeed, which should tell them right there that online is the new way to watch shows or at least sample shows that you wouldn't normally know about. They have the mentality that it's 1970's. What they fail to realize is that in this day and age, there are thousands of channels now and each one has 100's of shows. How can they expect anyone to know what is on...what is new and when it airs? Stuff slips into the cracks and never are given a fair chance....i.e......666 Park Ave.

Sins of the Fathers

Kind of a lackluster episode. It only got interesting at the very end when Lex makes a play for Henry, knowing that Lou would 'catch' them, when Gavin banishes his daughter into the pit of The Drake (Hell) and when Lou looks to 'have a drink' with Oil-Man dude, which could be her last drink given that he already has a body inside his apartment.

The Elysian Fields

What's stupid or funny, your call, is that 2 of the 3 people at The Elysian Fields had their guns drawn on the unsuspecting Hitman, and STILL couldn't fire off a shot and kill the Hitman. Seriously? Fail! Even as dumb as this particular scene is, I still found the episode entertaining. Cool to see William Sadler as Jane's father.

Lazarus, Part 1

What's the first thing that would normally go through a person's head when they wind up behind brick walls? How about "how the f*ck did that happen? I get that Lou and Brian are scared about what their fate is, but come on.....I don't buy that no one, no matter how traumatic their situation is, wouldn't ask that very same question. In spite of that little hiccup, this was a very entertaining episode with surprises. So, Gavin is Jane's real father? I did not see that coming. Not sure why the episode was labeled Part 1 as this is clearly the last episode. Also, I'm curious if the epilogue was filmed after it was cancelled or if they did it during initial principal photography. Anyway, sucks that this show couldn't be saved for a longer run.
