Viva Zapatos

Mario Lopez
The Arno Family It's so weird to get "new" episodes (
Viva Zapatos and
Sub Zero) of a series cancelled, 11 years after the fact. Although
Viva Zapatos is a lot better than
The River, it's still an average episode. This one finds
Mario Lopez as
Lazaro Chaveco, a Cuban soccer player who defects to America. His agenda for doing so is questionable since he may or may not be doing this to commit terrorist acts in the US. Overall, the acting was horrible as
Mario's Koo-ban accent at times was his interpretation of
Al Pacino in
Scarface. Bah. As bad as
Mario was in this, I'm pretty confident in what truly killed this show was.....
That brings to a close,
Cover Me. The final scene with the picture frame was a nice way to end the series. I wonder if the writing was already on the wall and they shot this scene to reflect that. Getting the chance to re-watch this series again, it's was very clear that the show really started going downhill after they moved from San Diego to Utah.
