FOX and Hulu are really starting to piiss me off to no end. Another series is now victim to the week-long delay of airing episodes. Phuck! I was looking forward to waking up this morning and watching the premiere.

Neither Here Nor There

I'm so happy Fringe is back. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has to offer. As far as this episode is concerned, I didn't realize from the ending of last seasons cliffhanger, that The Machine would basically become ground zero, or the merge point of both parallel universes in which anyone standing inside the warehouse can view both worlds simply by looking outside the window. Very cool.

It's gonna be interesting to see Olivia and Fauxlivia sharing plenty of screen time together. Anna Torv is gonna have fun this season for sure. So, Peter is "gone". Not really. Even though he technically doesn't exist, he still remains and Walter has now seen him twice, once in the mirror and once in the reflection of the TV. Not sure if anyone else caught it, but at the beginning of the episode, back at Ground Zero, there was a flicker of Peter before he vanished.

One Night In October

What a fantastic episode. Anna Torv must be having  the time of her life getting to act against herself. The the little nuances between both version of Olivia shows that she is on her game and is such an amazing actress. I wish more people knew about her. The story for this one was solid, where both sides agree to work with each other by bringing the alternate of a serial killer to help track him(self), but in the process may have just created a new serial killer. I think he will pop up later in this season.

Poor Walter. He is trying everything he can think of to get rid of the "voices" in his head by any means necessary and the sight gag of him sitting in front of a wall of speakers was a page taken right from the "Is it live or is it Memorex" commercial. Even the way Walter was sitting in the chair, slumped down was spot on.

Added Amber Opening

I really like how the series has changed the opening credit titles to reflect the significant changes within the Fringe Universe. Whatever color the opening titles are for any given week tells you what Universe the story will be taking place in. The Amber Opening means that both Universes are featured prominently in the episode.

Alone In The World

When Olivia walks in on Walter on the verge of giving himself a lobotomy, it was quite disturbing. But out of this comes a pretty cool moment when Walter confesses to her that he has been seeing hallucinations of a man, which she then reveals a hand drawn picture of the same man. Now they both know this man (Peter) is someone they have to find. Now we are off and running. I'm curious how this will resolve itself and how Peter will....come to be in the universe.

Also, it seems like they are setting up the little boy Aaron as a recurring character. I just hope they aren't writing the kid into the show for the sake of goosing the ratings. Kind of like Cousin Oliver and The Brady Bunch. The entire episode reminded me of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (Remake) crossed with Poison Ivy.

Welcome back Peter. Even though he doesn't show up till the very end of the episode, it felt like the Fringe of old. For obvious reasons, no one knows who he is, but he of course knows everyone else.

It was cool that we finally got another kid (grown adult now) from the project that Olivia was part of as a kid. They really need to do more stories about these kids. There is a wealth of stories they can tap into. Off the top of my head, I can really remember 2 other episodes involving someone from the group. 2 out of 4 Seasons. Not a good average at all.

Novation

The typewriter returns. So, it looks like they will be sending even more Shape-Shifters. It's just a question of how many. These Shape-Shifters episodes always messed with my head. Every scene with every actor in it, I am always suspicious and just think they are one of them. It gives me a headache.

It's cool to finally get Peter Bishop back. NOW it seems like Fringe again.
