The Demon Says I Do?

I'm usually ambliviant about Wedding themed shows. They bore me to tears and I never get anything remotely entertaining out of them. But for this one, I guess I have more of a connection given the fact that I'm a huge KISS fan and have more or less followed the exploits of Gene for years. Hearing him talk negatively about marriage for so long, I just had to see if he would actually go throught with it. I knew he would, but I figured there would be that little moment of doubt that would give him pause.

To my amazement, he never wavered and was actually looking forward to it. I enjoyed the entire episode with everyone involved. Even the ceremony itself was pretty cool. As for the guest list, I was curious to see who would be in attendance. I expected Hugh Hefner to be there. He was. Duh. I knew Paul Stanley would be there. Groomsman. Duh. Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer also showed. But I was really curious if any past members of KISS were going to show up. While scanning the crowd for Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, who I knew would never be invited and would not be there in person, I found Bruce Kulick in a couple of shots. Cool they haven't completely forgotten about him. All in all a great episode for sure.

This is not about the show, but it is about Gene Simmons

Gene Simmons slams Madonna over Super Bowl halftime show

Quote
Just two days after it was confirmed that Madonna will take the center stage in the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show, reality star and fellow performer Gene Simmons has slammed the pop star's participation.

"I love all karaoke singers," a sarcastic Simmons said when a TMZ cameraman brought up the subject of the Super Bowl performance. "I like all the girl singers who get up and sing with tapes. Shame on you."

The KISS frontman then launched into a full rant against any artist who isn't the "real" deal.

"You've got to have some integrity," he said. "I don't care what your music is. Have some integrity -- be real or full disclosure before the fact. Hold up a sign saying, 'Seventy percent of what you hear is fake. It's a tape. I'm a karaoke singer.' Say it!'

After offering some half-hearted praise for the pop icon ("By the way, Madonna's terrific"), Simmons continued his rant, adding that she wasn't "appropriate" for the halftime show.

I completely agree with Mr. Simmons take on this. I have never thought lip syncing a live concert presentation as respectable. I had arguments at the other forum about this. If I'm paying good money to see you perform, don't give me some fake lip syncing.

Madonna is good performer. Let's hear your real voice. If you can't dance and sing at the same time, get off the stage.

Helloooooooo... P!nk... g'head... tell those losers how it's done.

I'm against paying to see an artist lip syncing, regardless of who they are. But this is the first that I'm hearing about Madonna being one of them that sings to tape. Granted I've never seen her perform live, but I always thought she was the real deal.
