Pilot

I'm a fan of Matthew Perry and unlike most people, I actually think that the series that he has done post-Friends have been good. I really liked Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip which was a crime to have been cancelled and Mr. Sunshine was very underrated as it constantly delievered laughs on a weekly basis for me. So, that brings us to Go On, his latest series. I won't say that I had high hopes for this. Actually, I didn't have any hopes for this at all and I think it's because Perry has unfairly been tagged  with the "never-going-to-equal-Friends-success" moniker now which leads me to believe that the show won't get a fair chance, even if it's the greatest thing ever put on TV.

So what bout this first epiode? It's not bad, but it's not great either. It does need some work. I thought the first episode was uneven. I really didn't know exactly what the series wanted to be. Although there were a few chuckles in the first half of the Pilot, it's not till the second half does it land on its feet and gives us something to take hold of. When Ryan King (Matthew Perry) loses his  s h i t  and stars throwing fruit at Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson (how ironic, huh?) do we get and understand where the series will be going. I do like that he will more or less be the one running the grief counselling sessions that he is suppose to be a participant of. I do like the motley crew that will form the inner circle. There seems to be a nice balance of weird, crazy and sad that can offer plenty of different stories they can run with. Lets just hope that people give Go On a chance and that this doesn't become another "failed" series for Perry. I'd like to see him take this one a lot longer than his last two.

I'm on board for this and will stick with it. Pilots are usually not indicative of what the series is about since most are rushed to get on the air, especially this one, which had an even shorter time frame to work with since it was set to premiere during the London 2012 Summer Olympics

He Got Game, She Got Cats

Very funny episode. I thought the whole dumping the boyfriend and then getting cats to replace him was good, especially Sonia reasons for why she kept getting more and more. This show does have a lot of promise. I'm sticking with it for the time being. It's not a stretch because it's obvious where this is going, but I see Ryan (Matthew Perry) eventually dating his group therapy leader Lauren (Laura Benanti) will of course offer some comedic moments when the conflict of interest rears its ugly head.

There's No "Ryan" In Team

This was a fantastic episode. Loved it. Now the entire ensemble is firing on all cylinders. Not to say that they had the previous 2 episodes, but on this one everyone had their little moment to shine and it was great. Maybe it's just me, but I saw more "Chandler" in some of Matthew Perry's character of Ryan. That awkward sarcasm that he was well known for on Friends. Loved the 'basketball uniform' gag and the Porsche gag in the parking lot. Please renew this show ASAP!!

Bench-Clearing Bawl

This episode is worth its weight in gold just for the Rachel Maddow joke. Haha. Very funny. Great episode.

Do You Believe in Ghosts... Yes!

This show is so damn funny. Loved this episode and I thought it was hilarious that the ended the episode with Mr K becoming a Real Estate Agent, along with Lauren. Very funny. I also thought it was a nice add to the show by having Ryan's 'Ghost Wife' appearing. I wonder if this will be incorporated into the series now. It wasn't something I envisioned the show going with, but I like the possibilities of where they can go with this angle.

Big League Chew

This show is so frickin' awesome. The fact that they can have Ryan inside his own head at 'Harborville' and make sense just shows that when you have great writing, great characters and great actors, everything on screen makes sense. Very funny episode. Only downside to this episode is that it's over and now I have to wait another week for a new one. Bah!!

Any Given Birthday

Another fantastic episode. There is no way a show should be this consistently funny and touching at the same time. The scavenger hunt was good, but it's what comes at the end that made this a keeper with Mr. K and Anne start dancing. Very funny. The cherry on top was a visit from Ryan's late wife to share in the moment of contemplation of what she did in setting up his Birthday party. I like this angle of her show up from time to time. Gives us more insight into who Ryan was with her.
