Blue Water

Another great episode that sees the Captain entertaining the idea of creating an alliance with China, Sam finally reunited with his Wife Christine and the problem that is "Prison" control is finally addressed. I was wondering just how much man power the Captain would be able to spend on watching and feeding the prisoners who seem to be multiplying at a faster rate than Gremlins. Lashing is the order of the day. As for Christine, I knew that what's his face had staged her death so that he could profit from her capture later. Bastards gonna pay once Sam finds out!!

Damn the Torpedoes

Another awesome episode. I just don't know what was my favorite part. A lot of **** went down in this one. You have the meeting taking place where the higher ups are plotting to arrest the President and then having to kill one of the Generals who was going to blow the whistle on the whole plot. You had the showdown between the Submarine and the Destroyer on whether or not the Captain would have the balls to fire on his own kind. He does. And then you have Cortez, who was sent to assassinate the Captain finally making a decision on which side of the line to stand on. Just a great hour, full of high tension.

The Pointy End of the Spear

I'm watching the episode and the entire time I am waiting for things to go sideways with regards to the Coup of arresting the President. I was on pins and needles. What I didn't see coming was Ernie Hudson's character admitting that he conspired with other people for the coup and then taking out a gun and blowing his head off on the senate floor. Also, watching the impending mutiny transpire over the Submarine had me on the end of my seat. One last episode next week and I can't see this getting a proper wrap up. I'm afraid we are going to left with a major cliffhanger. Sigh.

Controlled Flight Into Terrain

My biggest fear heading into the last episode of the series was that of unfinished business. I was so worried that this would turn into another Las Vegas debacle with no resolution, leaving the rest of us to wonder "what happened then..." Well, it's safe to say that this series finale won't be up there with the worst send-offs ever. It will actually rank up there with one of the best. Yes, the final 5 minutes was pretty much everything that would have happened eventually. But ending it the way they do gives me and the series a swan song that you can feel good about. I liked the last episode enough to actually say that I will be picking this up on DVD when it's released. Fantastic and very entertaining last hour. The acting by all was superb. Yes, there were a couple of instances in this last episode that were highly implausible, especially Kylie being able to sneak a gun past all the President's men and get close enough to actually kill him. But I don't care about implausibility when I want resolution for a show that I absolutely love. So, I will let that slide for sure.

One last thing as I close out this review.....

FUUUUUCK YOU, ABC!!!!

Hate to do this, but given that this series is now officially in the books, time for me to move this to TV's Greatest Hits and Misses, emphasis on Greatest.

I guess I completely missed the boat (so to speak) on this one.

Chip was giving this some major man love.

So did it just end? If this ever came to Netflix, would it be worth putting in the time?

They had enough time to craft a series finale that wrapped up everything in a nice bow. It was clearly rushed, meaning they HAD to do it since there was no other option but to speed up the process to get us there. For what it is, it's one of the better series finale given that they were forced into doing just that. I for sure would watch it again if I ever came across it. If I saw it on DVD for sale, I'd probably buy it.
