24: Legacy (Season 1 - 2017)

Chiprocks1:
Trailer

I'm a huge fan of the series and own every single season on DVD (except the last one) and it's because I'm such a nerd-fan for the show that I just can't see this reboot working without Kiefer Sutherland. With that said, I will definitely tune in for the premiere just to see how this plays out and whether my opinions wins out. The trailer was just 'okay' for me.
Chiprocks1:
Hour 1 and Hour 2
I just watched the first two episodes and if you're a fan of the original Jack Bauer era 24, then you are going to like this because it feels very much the same as before with regards to the pacing, editing, tempo of each episode. It hits all the very familiar traits of the original. Now the big hurdle for Legacy is how will the new cast be received by the public. It's a tall order to fill in the shoes left by Kiefer Sutherland. There's no getting around that everyone still wants Jack Bauer calling the shots here in spite of what looks to be a decent cast. I know that the reviews as of now are not kind, but I'm still on board with the series. It's not perfect and neither was the original as it too had issues. The first episode was great, but the second did have a noticeable dip. Still worth checking out.
Chiprocks1:
After a solid first two episodes, the series has taken a dramatic dip. The last 3 episodes were weak with Episode 5 probably being one of, if not the worst episode in 24 history. I was beyond bored. There was nothing compelling and worse than that, it seemed to be spinning it's wheels. I hope this is just a minor set back and that they can get back on track.
Chiprocks1:
I forgot about this threads existence and you can thank 24: Legacy for that. What started off great and veered into tedium just went off the rails as it slogged its way to the end. This season absolutely SUCKED in a BIG way. To say that I didn't care for any of the characters is an understatement. But with 24, you could always count on exciting, pulse-pounding action set pieces to carry you across the finish line for each episode. Nope. Not only was the writing horrible and the plot stupid, but it was beyond boring. Waaaaaaay too many 'sitting around and talking' scenes that defied logic given the nature of what was at stake and how much time they had left to fix sh*t. So yeah, unless they can somehow convince Kiefer Sutherland to come back as Jack Bauer, they need to bury this series once and for all. If anything, this season just proved that it can't survive without Sutherland. I give this season an generous 2 Stars out of 5. The first two episodes keeps this from getting a 1 Star.

24: Legacy Cancelled at Fox, as Next Incarnation of 24 Franchise Is Explored
Thank God! Really surprised to hear that they are going to reboot this yet again. It's never going to work without Sutherland. So...STOP with this rebooting nonsense!
