Aw crap! My biggest fear happened. This episode was too damn short!!!!! Argh!!!!!! I still can't believe that I'm actually watching 24 again. It's tripping me out that I'm experiencing the same joyful glee that I always got when watching Jack Bauer doing his thing. He makes it look so damn easy in how he can get in and out of some hairy situations and the ending itself was a keeper. So, I imagine that next week will be his confrontation with President Heller and more to the point his reunion with Audrey. I can't wait. One interesting thing happened very early in the episode was Chloe confiding to Jack about what happened to Morris and Preston (her husband and son). It needed some explanation because it didn't make sense that she was alone when Day 9 started. What makes this announcement somewhat eye opening is that I think they just set up what Day 10 could entail (hunting down those responsible for their deaths as Chloe believes it was a hit orchestrated by the US Government. Who doesn't want to see Jack and Chloe exact some revenge against Big Brother?

Day 9: 2:00PM-3:00PM

We didn't get the reunion that I thought we were going to get at the end of the previous episode. But Audrey does know that Jack is alive and I have a theory of where the story may go. The entire episode was basically a stand off episode where Jack is holed up, trying to decrypt and upload physical evidence about the existence of a drone device that can hack and take control of drones as well as proof of an impending drone attack on London. Jack's chances of getting the evidence out proves pointless because he just didn't have enough time to get it done. In a cool twist of fate, Agent Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski) was able to sneak into the room via vent (which I thought was odd to begin with) and get him to stand down and surrender himself, but that she would take the evidence and run with it herself as she believes in him.

With Bauer in cuffs and heading to lock down, I kinda get the feeling that it's gonna be Audrey that "breaks him out". Well, she will be key in seeing to it that he escapes capture, especially since she stood up for his character when it was being assassination by her husband. I do hope it plays out this way because it would be a great way for her character to get involved in the story and not just have her standing around, being passive. Right now, not really feeling the 'Villains' part of the story, especially in this episode where Mama Villain uses her own Daughter to prove that she's psychotic by cutting off her finger.

Day 9: 3:00PM-4:00PM

This episode is going to be the easy pay day for Kiefer Sutherland ever. He is barely in this one at all and really doesn't have much to do now that he is being held captive by authorities. You would think if that's the case, the episode would be a bust, right? Nope. It actually gave us a very profound moment when we finally get to see the reunion between Bauer and Audrey. He doesn't show much emotion throughout the series (that is if you count untapped angry toward the bad guys). But to see him on the verge of tears at seeing Audrey was great and they set up that even though she is married, she still loves him. Not sure how they will resolve that, especially in half a day. I don't foresee her breaking up with her husband that fast.

Day 9: 4:00PM-5:00PM

Up till now, Agent Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski) is kind of been on the sideline, even though she was directly responsible for "capturing" Jack Bauer. But this is the episode we finally get to see what she is made of and it's balls of steel. Sh*t man, there was a moment that made Bauer flinch "what the f*ck" at seeing Kate plunge's the syringe into her own neck just to facilitate Bauer's Trojan Horse plan of getting both of them on the inside. But that's nothing compared to what comes next. When the plan goes to sh*t, and she is being tortured, she basically 'Out-Bauer's' the man himself and it was f*cking awesome! Watching her subdue, choke out, escape her shackles and then stab the guy was impressive in the 24 Universe. I hope she sticks around for a long time to give us a female version of Bauer. The ending with Benjamin Bratt's character was expected. I immediately had him pegged as the 'mole'. The phone call implies as much as he clearly has something to do with Kate's husband past.

Episode was okay. This is where things kind of get stretch a bit with filler. I was kinda hoping because of the shorter season this issue would have been dealt with. Apparently not. Not much really happens in the way of moving the story forward. Jack is sent to question the daughter to no avail and then must evacuate the hospital since its a target of the drone strike. The ending with Heller and Margot was kind of anticlimactic for what it was......a staring contest.

Day 9: 6:00PM-7:00PM

24 is famous for killing off popular characters. It's actually why fans continue to flock to the series because you want to see who is going to make it and who isn't. As soon as they said last week that Heller was going to give himself up, it was set. Sure, this episode would be 55 minutes of them trying to save Heller at the 11th hour, but it would prove futile and he would go out in a blaze of glory, which he did. If ya gonna go out, might as well go out on the receiving end of a missile in Wimbley Stadium (or whatever it's called today). Another great scene involved Audrey first finding out that her husband knew that her father was going to surrender himself. The knock out punch was finding out that Bauer is the one that escorted him.

Ooooooooooooooh, snaaaaaaaaaaaap! That was insane and took me totally by surprised and yet, it's classic Bauer. With each successive season he becomes more and more jaded about toeing the line. So, for him to literally throw Margot out the window was epic. What made the scene what it was, was Margot "threatening" Bauer and his response was to just throw her out the window. Kinda reminded me of the classic scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indy just shoots the Sword man.

As I suspected at the end of last weeks episode, President Heller is alive. I just knew that Bauer wouldn't allow harm to come to him. It's not in his nature to let anyone f*ck with a good President. As for the Margot story line, that's a wrap on the Drones. Now it's all about the override device that can breach any security system and that's currently in the hands of Bratt's character. I wonder if Chloe is going to be the one to kill her "boyfriend" who is clearly using her just for her hacking skills, one that he will try to get her to use on the device.
