Come on! Where the  f u c k  is Connie Britton?! She was the sole reason why I was even interested in AHS in the first place! Bah!! I'll still watch AHS, but it's gonna bum me out if she doesn't return in some capacity.

Britton has stated after American Horror Story wraps that she will be taking a couple of months off to be with her new son, but that she will then begin to re-focus on developing an FX drama collaboration with David O. Russell.

In March 6, 2012 it was announced Britton had been cast in a lead role on the upcoming ABC musical drama pilot Nashville about 40-year-old superstar, whose star begins fading.

But this will be about a washed up country singer. That has to be riveting... right?

I love this show too.  I will be sad if Britton doesn't make at least some appearances on the show.  I am interested to see what they do with the show in the new season, what with the demon baby.  Jessica Lange is a must, of course, but I'm sure we will be introduced to other house residents at some point.

I'd like to see the entire family come back one way or another, but Connie is an absolute must for sure.

I'll see if I can recall the article talking about some of the 'characters' coming back for the new season.

‘American Horror Story’ Season 2 Adds James Cromwell

Cromwell is great, this is gonna be good.

FX’s hit anthology series American Horror Story is looking to beef up its star power for season 2, with the addition of Oscar-nominated actor James Cromwell (L.A. Confidential). While still in the final stages of negotiations, Cromwell is poised to join the cult-thriller for a big 10-episode story arc opposite star Jessica Lange.

Set to be the main antagonist to Lange’s new season 2 character (not the same as her season 1 character), Cromwell will play the coveted role of Dr. Arden, a man who works in the East Coast institution for the criminally insane that is run by Lange’s character. This is not the first stab at television for the veteran film star, as Cromwell has lent his skills to other hit TV shows such as 24, ER and HBO’s Six Feet Under.

With a mixture of the warped season 1 finale and the intense secrecy surrounding season 2, American Horror Story has created a lot of speculation and expectation in regards to how the series will top its self. Outside of casting and location not much is known about the upcoming season — and showrunner Ryan Murphy is not telling. However, he has indicated that, although the show is set up as an anthology, some lingering questions from season 1 may get answered in season 2.

‘Skins’ Star Heads To ‘American Horror Story’ Loony Bin

Quote
“American Horror Story“ apparently isn’t done populating the asylum at the center of its upcoming second season.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Britne Oldford, best known for her role as moody, pill-popping Cadie in MTV’s “Skins,” is joining the FX hit in the recurring role of Alma. A description of Alma was not made available, but conventional wisdom points to her being one of the patients holed up at the institution for the criminally insane run by Jessica Lange.

Other new faces on tap for Season 2 of the FX hit include “Big Love”‘s Chloe Sevigny, “The Voice”‘s Adam Levine, French actress Lizzie Brochere, “FlashForward”‘s Joseph Fiennes and Oscar nominee James Cromwell, while Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe — who in Season 1 played Constance, Chad, Tate, psychic Billie Dean and doctor’s wife Nora — are all set to return but as different characters.

“Everybody is playing the opposite of what they played last year,” “Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy recently told TVLine, “which I think is why they’re all so into it.”

So does that mean there is no resolution to last season's storyline, because they are just going to change it all up?  Sounds terrible!

I'm not sure what to make of it, but I wouldn't doubt that Ryan Murphy is playing in a much bigger sandbox and all of it will make sense in the end. Sure, it might not sit well with people (myself included) that want immediate answers and resolutions. But I am going to go into Season 2 with the idea Ryan knows what he is doing. I hope.

Having said that, AHS was nominated for a mini-series for this years Emmy's Award Show. So, in the eyes of the voters, Season 1 had a clear enough resolution to get the nomination for that instead of a regular series. Go figure.

Having been burned by LOST, I don't know if I can take another series that just strings you along with no real resolutions to storylines.

I don't see it going down the 'Lost' road with AHS. If anything, that series is a cautionary tale of how not to do things.

FX Announces “American Horror Story: Asylum”

Quote
The upcoming second season/installment of FX’s horror series/miniseries “American Horror Story” will be titled “American Horror Story: Asylum,” co-creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy announced today, reports DL.

Set in 1964, “American Horror Story: Asylum” stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Zachary Quinto, James Cromwell, and Joseph Fiennes.

Principal photography on “AHS: Asylum” started on July 17 for an October premiere.

“We picked ‘Asylum’ because it not only describes the setting – an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward – but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted,” Murphy said. “This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors.”

The first installment of “American Horror Story” earned 17 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, tying for the most of any program this year and setting a record for the most Emmy nominations for a miniseries in basic cable history. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto and Tim Minear are Executive Producers of “American Horror Story: Asylum.” It is produced by 20th Fox Television.
