So we were able to catch up with the last 3 episodes. The first thing I noticed is it has been awhile since I've watched it and easily got lost on who was a ghost and who was not. Luckily I was able to watch the 3 in about 1-1/2 hours. That was nice. Lots of surprises including the death of Violet. The show consistently tests the boundaries of conventional television. Thank gawd FX has the balls.

I think the best part of this show has been the slow reveals. Every corner brings something new and unexpected. And THAT's what I look for in a story.

The death of Vivien just helps set up season 2. I don't think people will be to distraught at a whole new storyline, location and people. Heck, these guys (creator Ryan Murphy) might be chiseling away at some new thinking in television series.
