Pilot

First off I have to say that Horror is just not my bag. It's not that I hate it, but that I usually don't get anything out of it, i.e. scares. I think the last time I was scared from watching anything "horror" related was Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (Remake) and Poltergeist. And that had a lot to do with me just being an impressionable kid at the time. Since then, whenever I have watched horror movies, nothing. No scares at all. So I usually look to good story telling and characters to keep me in my seat.

So that brings me to the Pilot. That was phucked up. But I don't know if that's in a good way or a bad way. Knowing Brad's history with Nip/Tuck, I was expecting to have him push the envelope as far as he could possible go. But even I was shocked at some of the things that made it onto the air waves here. As for the story, I don't know what's creepier, the man in the latex body suit or Jessica Lange, who I didn't even know was in this series.

The story itself is a lot of fractured pieces to a much larger puzzle that will not come together anytime soon and I'm sure we will only get some answer when the season finale comes our way. So, to me there are a lot of holes right now that make no sense. The one plot point that intrigued me was Constance (Jessica Lange) alludes to the fact that she already killed the Housekeeper, Moira, which means she is Casper and only she and the immediate family that lives in the Phucked up house can see her.

If there is one thing that I can take away from this series is knowing that Connie Britton is still working so soon after the ending of Friday Night Lights. I will stick with this show just for her as she was the main reason why I gave this series a chance. But I am curious to see how this plays out and if some if not all my questions get answered this season.

Glad you got to see it?

Anyway, I'm glad you did. Added a link to the first post to be able to watch the episodes from FX

Home Invasion

This show is brilliantly shows the uncomfortable factor, tied to some very creepy people and situations. Not giving away a lot hear, but this time the house defends the inhabitants.

Again, so much going on, how does one even begin to try to recap the story and make sense.

Really enjoying this show.

Looks like Hulu and FX pulled the old bait and switch. Pilot was used only to lure in unsuspecting rubes like myself into believing the status quo had changed.  Whatever! Bite me!

They will most likely run the entire season 2-3 months after the Season Finale airs.

Home Invasion

Somewhat better episode than that of the Pilot. But even though this was an improvement, this show is still bugging me somewhat. It's not scary as it's just a really bizarre take on the horror genre. And Jessica Lange is freaking me out....a lot. Even with these things, I'm still interested to see where this is going.

I noticed a couple of the actresses in this one. The one that played Maria at the beginning was also the pregnant girl in Parenthood who eventually gives the baby away. And the one that played Hayden (Kate Mara) I knew very well from her short stint on Ryan Murphy's other show Nip/Tuck.

I guess FX and Hulu will be hosting from here on out, albeit 8 days after the fact.

Murder House

Pilot

Yup. I wasn't expecting to get a resolution to this part of the story so fast. I was expecting it to slowly reveal itself over time throughout the season.

As for Hayden, when she popped up earlier in the episode I knew she was not long of this Earth. I figured the good ole Doctor was gonna get his hands dirty. What I didn't see coming was "Scarface Dude" popping out of nowhere with shovel in hand. BAM! Ouch. I knew the the hole the Doc was digging up in the backyard was where Moira was buried. But the interesting thing here, was Doc digging up the hole because Moira was "calling to him" to do so or was he digging the hole because he knew what would befall Hayden?

Hmmmmmmm?

Overall a great episode.

FX Renews American Horror Story for Season 2
Quote
American Horry Story has been renewed for a 13-episode second season.

"It's one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience—it's something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up, network President John Landgraf said Monday in announcing the renewal. "Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have hit the trifecta with Nip/Tuck, Glee and now American Horror Story, which will be scaring FX's viewers to death for many years to come."

American Horror Story stars Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton as a couple who moves to a new — and creepy — house in Los Angeles with their teenage daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga). The series has been averaging 4.2 million total viewers and is on track to become the highest-rated first season of any FX series.

I think it's pretty interesting the people behine Glee are the same for American Horror Story. Talk about diametrically opposed.

Have you ever seen Nip/Tuck? This is exactly what I expect from Ryan Murphy and company. It's Glee that I'm more shocked about. If you haven't seen their original series, by all means pick it up. It's unbelievably addicting and awesome.

I've heard that as well as several others like Dexter that I've completely missed the boat on. Maybe, just maybe I can pick up whole seasons sometime. I am absolutely terrible at linear show watching. I am trying very hard with Parenthood and American Horror Story. I tried with Lost, but in the long run, see that I saved myself a lot of frustration.

Episode 4: Halloween (Part 1)

This show is seriously creeping me out. As for Part 1, there is a continuity error I believe regarding Moira. She is dead and is stuck at the house and can't move on. So,  A) How is she able to go visit her Mother in the retirement home? and B) How can she physically disengage the breathing tube from her? Hmmmmm? Eh? If the answer is already revealed, Mac, leave it in a spoiler. No, leave it in a "moving" spoiler!!!!

Addy's mask was creepy. It reminded me of the Kimber Doll from Nip/Tuck. Bah! I need to stop watching anything from Ryan Murphy!!!

Zachary Quinto fits in nicely with show. His eyebrows always scared the hell out of me. Now, he has found a fitting place to show them off.
