Episode 10
Left Behind

This was the one I waited the longest to see over the Fall Break. We all did. Had to find out just what became of Ollie after his "death" scene at the tail end of the mid-season finale. Now I never for once thought he had actually perished. No one did, because that would be the end of the show. It was all about how he would survive. Many had speculated he would be revived via the Lazarus Pit. He wasn't. More on that later. This episode was really about how everyone is reacting to the fact that he hasn't returned. With the team basically having to do double duty in his absence, it's left to Diggle, Roy and Felicity to pick up the slack and carry on. How cool was it to see Diggle donning the Green Hood? Very cool!

As the episode wore on, and the team started to come to terms that Ollie was never coming back and that he was dead, it affected the drive of the team to basically break up and call it quits. This leads into something that I wasn't expecting at all: the reveal of Black Canary. All along I have been trying to pinpoint when and why Laurel would don the Canary suit and they couldn't have picked a better moment for her grand unveiling. Since the gang is no more, she felt the need to pick up the slack herself and it was great. As for Ollie, I actually got it right that it would be Maseo that would find him. But I didn't see the return of Tatsu as the reason why he would be alive. Nice twist.

DAVID RAMSEY WANTS TO SEE BRUCE WAYNE ON "ARROW"

I love that everyone on Arrow, especially the top tier actors on the show are fans and are still pushing to get big name characters that they and the fans want to see. Hope it happens. Would love to see a crossover on Gotham.

Episode 11
Midnight City

Caity Lotz returns!!! Kinda. But it did serve up one of the most gut-wrenching scenes.....twice. With Laurel taking up the mantel of Black Canary and video surfacing on the airwaves, it of course gets back to Quentin that her daughter "Sara" is back in town. With the help from Felicity, using a voice changer, Laurel has to pretend that she is Sara by talking to her father, reassuring him that she is okay. Imagine how that must feel for Laurel to have to not only lie to her father but to fool in the process by playing her sister? That's heady stuff. I really dug the Maseo and Tatsu story line. Really interested in finding out what drove them apart. But the ending was a head scratcher when it's revealed that Maseo is in contact with the mole that is the DJ, keeping tabs on Thea. I always suspected he was a mole, I just didn't have a clue as to who he was working for. Now I know.

Getting back to Black Canary, I'm really glad the writers kept it "real" by showing Laurel to be completely out of her depth. It would have been too much of a stretch for her to "train" for a few episodes and then take to the streets and be a bad ass on par with Sara. She's not even close. They had Laurel basically tripping , stumbling, failing and basically embarrassing herself in making mistakes that unfortunately gets someone killed. So, props to the writers indeed.

I found these to be very entertaining and fun. The guy that did these clearly had a lot of patience to sit down and get it all done right. It looks really could. Love the little 'Easter eggs' made for unexpected good laughs.

Episode 12
Uprising

Ya know, even though it was interesting to see Sterling City being defended by the Arrow gang, early on into this episode I was growing impatient with the fact that Ollie hadn't returned back to the city to done the Green Hood. Even though he was making his way back, it was to my dissatisfaction that he was taking too long. So, it was actually somewhat of a surprise to see him return in grand fashion in the middle of the town war against Brick, which ended being pretty cool. As always, a lot of stuff goes down within the final 5 minutes. Ollie agrees to be trained by Merlyn, Sin tells Quentin that the Black Canary running around the city is not his daughter Sara, and Felicity wants nothing to do with Ollie after wishing he would return. All in all, very fun hour.

Episode 13
Canaries

What's better than one Black Canary? Try Two Black Canaries! What's better than two? Try two Canaries beating the sh*t out of each other and that's exactly what we get here. With Laurel getting drugged by Count Vertigo, it opened up the door for her to finally confront her guilt about a lot of things, her sister being the primary one. Seeing Caity Lotz back wearing leather, I realized just how much I miss her as the Canary. She just owns the character and sell it better than Katie Cassidy. Sure, her character is meant to be wet behind the ears and is still learning the ropes. I hope that we will see a bad ass Laurel in the future once she gets proper training from Ollie. Best scene was definitely Laurel finally telling her father about Sara's passing. Very sad. That wasn't the only secret let out of the bag. Thea now knows Ollie is the Arrow and everyone else from Team Arrow for that matter as well. Is there no one left in the City that doesn't know his secret identity? I like the final scene that has Ollie and Thea back to his Island of Purgatory.

Episode 14
The Return

I loved how they basically flipped the story telling for this one. Up until now, the plot device has always been Ollie in current day with him in Starling City with the flashbacks being either on The Island or in Hong Kong. But with Ollie and Thea in current day heading back to the Island, it gave the flashback a nice little twist, offering Ollie the chance to return to Starling City back where everyone was still under the impression that he was long dead. This gave Ollie a bird's eye view of what their life was like from the shadows and it was cool because it allowed the writers the chance to bring back a few characters such as Tommy Merlyn and Robert Queen. It also gave us the first time Ollie laid eyes on Felicity, who was flirting with a picture of Ollie. Creepy given that she knows he's "dead". But it was funny none the less. Another cool thing was seeing Ollie lurking about wearing a sweater hoodie that just happened to be green. Ha, kinda like a beta test tryout of the hero he would eventually become.

As for the current day story line on the Island, it was a great opportunity to bring back Slade Wilson and even better was having Malcolm Merlyn setting him free from ARGUS prison as some sort of demented "training" exercise for Ollie and Thea. Yeah, like that's gonna sit well with them. Well, the cat is out of the bag now that Thea knows she was the one that killed Sara. It's gonna be interesting to see how she handles this in future episodes. As for Slade, I know it was going to be a one and done cameo and that he would end up back in ARGUS. Was really hoping that he would escape the Island for good so that he could come back and wreak havoc down the road. Solid episode.

Episode 15
Nanda Parbat

People are raving about this episode but I'm one not to agree with the consensus. Look, it's a decent episode at best, but certainly not in the same league as their more revered arcs. Other than Thea giving the League the whereabouts of Merlyn, leading to his capture, not much happens here. It's more of a setup episode that is sure to pay off in the next episode. Ollie and Diggle head to rescue Merlyn from the hands of Ra's al Ghul and end up getting captured themselves. The kicker is that Ra's al Ghul  wants Ollie to take over the League. The one thing of note was finally getting our first look at The Atom in action. It's just weird to see Brandon Routh in anything other than a Superman costume.

Episode 16
The Offer

As the title suggest, Ra's al Ghul offers Oliver as the one to succeed him. After that, a whole lot of nothing of importance happens. The ending where Ra's al Ghul starts killing criminals dressed as the Arrow was a good twist in forcing Oliver's hand to accept the offer....or else more bodies will start piling up. Finally Laurel will get the proper training she needs at the hands of Nyssa al Ghul. She needs the work because her 'Black Canary' is kind of a joke because she can't do the simple things that a Superhero is suppose to do.

Episode 17
Suicidal Tendencies

The showdown we have been all waiting for: Arrow Vs. ATOM. Unfortunately it was over before it began. Much in the same way that Ollie was able to neutralize Barry Allen / Flash rather quickly, due to inexperience, the same befell Ray Palmer. As for the suit itself, it looks great. I'm sure there are going to be plenty of people calling it nothing more than a "poor man's" Iron Man.  I still liked it and the FX were amazing for something on TV. The other half of the episode dealt with the Suicide Squad again and we get to get an Origin story of sorts pertaining to Deadshot. Good stuff.

Episode 18
Public Enemy

Public Enemy is essentially an hour long chase episode be it in the flashback or current day sequences and it was quite fun to see. With Cops in heavy pursuit of the Arrow in a city-wide lock down, I was curious to see how it would end. I did know that it could only end with Oliver surrendering himself once his identity was revealed. With this in the back of my mind, I started to write my own ending before it came to light, as a legit way to 'free' him both from incarceration as well as public opinion and it involved Merlyn. What kind of atonement or redemption was out there that he could own for himself and win back his daughter Thea? Why, have him make a very public announcement that HE is in fact the Arrow and do it alongside Oliver so that there was no question they are two different people. Well, that's how I wrote it in my head and everything was falling into place as it got closer and closer to the end. The only thing that didn't pan out was the 'who'. It was Roy that surrenders himself instead of Merlyn. So, once again, Merlyn is a coward as he's always been and will always be.

Episode 19
Broken Arrow

The ending is what I want to focus on. So, for the past few episodes, Ra's al Ghul has had a hard-on in getting Oliver to succeed him as the next in line, but has failed to convince him, even with threats to the people of Starling City. The natural progression of course would be to turn his attention to his love ones. That of course means Thea. With a blade to her gut, bleeding out as it fades to black, the thing I keep thinking is that this is where we are going to finally see the Lazarus Pit. Ra's al Ghul's knowledge of the life giving pit will finally convince Oliver to accept his terms in order to save Thea. Well, that's what I'm thinking anyway. As for Roy, I never once believed they had killed him off. Saw the swerve coming a mile away. So, he exits the show, but I think he will be turning up on the ATOM spin-off series or whatever the name it will be.
