Okay, this is going to sound a little complicated, but they haven't shot a pilot yet, this is just the prototype promo reel, to show you what they want the show to be.  But dang if it didn't get my attention:

They're making a pilot, but this little thing was either something to show the Syfy people to get the pilot made OR it could just be that the time to release is so short that they needed to create this mock-up in order to promote it.

I kinda got an Iron Sky vibe with the kids doing the modified pledge of allegiance.  Although I can't imagine the ship looking cooler than IS's "USS George W Bush."  We shall see.
