Speaking of Kiefer Sutherland, this looks really good. All I can think of when watching the trailer is 'Jack Bauer' finally got promoted to President.

Episode 1
Pilot

The series is off to a strong start. Solid first episode that pretty much sets up everything. Going into this, I was kinda of doubtful that the show could sustain itself for a long run. On the outside looking in, my guess is that this would no doubt be an inside job from people in high places within the government that wanted the President removed permanently because his policy would cut into their fat pay offs. This was pretty much confirmed tonight (or it just might be a red herring). But that's only half the equation. For a pay off to work, there has to be a second party. That's where the mystery will come into play. Who is the other country that is set to benefit from this and who is the one that ordered the hit? I'm liking what I've seen so far. Bonus points that Maggie Q is in this. I had no idea she was attached to this.

I didn't either, actually.

This is one of the few shows my mom was looking forward to, which is strange because she never saw 24.  I think she's just intrigued by the whole premise.

Finally getting into this.  I'm liking it.  Obviously, I can't help but make comparisons to Battlestar Galactica since the whole "Reconstruction of the government" was a big thing in that series as well.

It's really funny to see Kiefer Sutherland to play a more soft-spoken type of character than Jack Bauer... I had forgotten how soothing his voice is, I could listen to him pontificate.

Can I also say that I think that the premise is kind of genius, not just as a gripping conceit, but also explains the scope of the show.  Obviously it doesn't have the budget and resources of The West Wing or House Of Cards, it can't have those big casts or even as many sets, but having it just be those survivors makes it work.  Of course there's only, like, four people on staff that speak, of course!

Season 2 dropped (Netflix picked it up because it did well overseas) and I'm curious to see how the show changes... I somehow doubt that they dropped insane piles of cash on it, but I imagine the long form storytelling changed.
