Episode 1
Damned If You Do...

Decent episode that shoehorned more villians into the arc, but it came at the expence of The Penguin, who was by far the best thing last year. I hope this was just a small blip in the premiere and that he will be back with more screen time.

Episode 2
Knock, Knock

Last weeks episode was okay, but it left me feeling if this season was going to be more of the same as the second half of Season 1. But if this season is anything like tonight's episode, then count me on board for the long haul. We got a little bit of Jerome Valeska last week, which was good. But we got a whole lot more tonight and it was awesome. Cameron Monaghan is going to be the breakout star this season in his scene stealing role. They may not have officially come out and said that he is the Joker, but it's a no-brainer exactly who he is....or will become. He is channeling his inner Jack Nicholson and it's paying off big time. Bonus points in seeing Alfred making an alliance with Lucius Fox. If you're not familiar with the name, the character was played by Morgan Freeman in the Dark Knight movies. This is the start of something good. Now I'm actually looking forward to more episodes of Gotham.

Episode 3
The Last Laugh

What the f*ck!!! What just happened here? Well, I guess Jerome wasn't the Joker after all. I keep thinking they faked his death, but the manner in which they killed off Jerome was very definitive with a knife to the neck and him bleeding out. I guess Jerome was always meant to be the influence on society in creating and warping minds and turning them to killers. The way they had Jerome bleeding out of his mouth clearly was designed to look like the Joker's 'Red Lipstick" look. Man, this sucks. Killing Jerome off is the same as killing off Darth Maul. Now what comes after is gonna suck. I still gotta believe that Jerome is still alive. He was stabbed by a knife that just happened to take place on stage as he was performing as a Magician. So, I'm hoping that said knife was one of those spring/retractable knives.

Episode 4
Strike Force

The addition of Michael Chiklis as Gotham's new Police Captain is a welcome addition and from the moment he steps into his first scene, you can see that he is channeling his most iconic role from The Shield. He is, once again, playing someone very close to that of Vic Mackey and I love it. He knows it, the fans know it, this is what we want to see. They even take it a step further by pretty much acknowledging Chiklis' past by assembling a new squad for Jim Gordon and calling it Strike Force, which was what they called Mackey's team on The Shield. He even had a smirk on his face when giving Gordon's team it's new name...."has a nice ring to it". Nice.

Episode 19
Azrael

Yeah, I haven't been posting in this thread for a long time, but that doesn't mean I haven't been watching every episode this season. The first half of the season was a huge step above Season 1, but it did have a couple of so-so episodes, but still better than before. The second half of Season 2 has been insanely fun to watch. The last 7-8 or so episodes have really stepped up their game. Last week was great in finally seeing The Penguin snapping and becoming the cold blooded character we all know him to be. This season has been especially great because of Edward Nygma / The Riddler. He has gotten a huge bump in character development and has been the breakout star this season. But tonight is all about the birth of Azrael, which came in the final scene of the previous episode. But in this episode it was all about him and it was f*cking awesome. The one thing that Gotham is lacking is Batman for obvious reasons. But with Azrael, he will fill in that void and I look forward to more.

Hugo Strange has been another huge addition to the series. I love that he is now able to bring people back from the dead, turning Theo into Azrael was the start. He even gave us an Easter egg of another well-known character coming our way. Mad Hatter anyone? But the one character that I'm waiting for Hugo to resurrect is Jerome / Joker. A while back when there was a shot of the meat locker showing bodies hanging instead alongside Theo, there was someone right next to him: Jerome. This season is already a huge success for me. I can't wait to see what they have in store for the final 3 episodes.

Episode 20
Unleashed

Well, so much for Theo / Azreal!!!! That didn't last long! 2 episodes and BOOM! Literally. That's all she wrote with Penguin and Butch using an RPG to rip Azreal apart. There is no bring him back this time. Well, Theo won't be back, but Azreal can always come back because he is nothing more than a mindset that Hugo Strange can implement into anyone. Just brainwash the next victim into believing he is Azreal and there you go. Solid episode. The ending with Selina and Firefly was a good cliffhanger. I'm still waiting to see Jerome come back. BRING BACK THE JOKER DAMNIT!!
