Not one of the better episodes. I knew that as soon as I saw that Robert Englung was guest staring on the Halloween episode, it was going to be over the top ham acting on his part. Stereotype much? He needs to branch out and do a lead in a romantic comedy.

Looks like they may have hit a creative slump. For a series that has been hitting it's mark pretty much the entire run, the last couple of episodes were just average. This one had Greg Grunberg (Alias, Heroes, LOST) guest staring as an Agent sent to help track down his partner's killer with the help of Five-O. The best in-joke for this one obviously played on Masi Oka and Greg's past endeavor on Heroes.

Pretty good twist at the end. With a Witness Protection transplant running from the Irish Mob., winds up dead, we are left to figure out who whacked him.

Spoiler (hover to show)

Nice nod to Grease with Lori and Max dressed up as Danny and Sandy.

Jenna's story comes full circle as she leads McGarrett into Korea to help her bring back her fiancé who is being held captive by Wo Fat. Only thing is, he is already dead and Wo Fat doesn't keep promises. I was kinda suprised that they had Wo Fat execute Jenna. I was expecting her to somehow escape and lead the rest of Five-0 back to help out. No Dice.

So, that leaves the team to scramble on their own and mount their own Search and Rescue to bring back McGarrett, with a little help from Jimmy Buffet, playing a former Vet Pilot and teammate of Joe White (Terry O’Quinn). He was actually pretty good in his cameo here and I wouldn't object to future appearances on the show.

The final scene with everyone flying home in the Helo was really good, especially when Chin announces he is getting married, having popped the question to Malia (Reiko Aylesworth) at the start of the episode. David Keith also returns to reprise his role as Wade as part of the Rescue mission. Overall a fantastic episode and the most un-Hawaii-Five-0 episode to date.

Terry O'Quinn

Rick Gomez

Lauren German

An okay episode that uses some very familiar plot points that I've seen countless times. When McGarrett drops off 2 duffle bags of coke at the drop site and places it into the abandoned Van, I knew immediately what was coming next.

BOOM!!

I saw the exact same scene most recently in Kidnapped. Although the episode as a whole was kind of a let down due to its predictability, it at least gave us a new characters portrayed by the awesome Rick Gomez (Band Of Brothers, Boomtown). It looks like this has the makings of a recurring story-line for him as Mateo Vargas. But the most interesting thing to come to light was Joe White looking to move "somebody" who may or may not be the elusive Shelburne that Wo Fat is hunting down.

Alaheo Pau'ole

Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park & Tom Sizemore

Reiko Aylesworth & Daniel Dae Kim

Terry O'Quinn & Alex O'Loughlin

The main case involving a scam being used on Parents that have been searching for their missing son for the past 2 years wasn't one of their better ones and my guess is that the writers are just kind of padding the episode to stretch out the Wo Fat / Shelburne story arc driving this season for as long as possible. Other than a brief scene in the middle of the episode and then later at the end, not much is said and done about it. Although at the end, it looks like the line has been drawn in the sand between McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Joe (Terry O'Quinn) in his refusal to tell McGarrett who Shelburne is.

Malia (Reiko Aylesworth) and Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) get married. Fast. The entire scene was no more than a few minutes. No buildup or nothing. Reiko Aylesworth looked gooooooooooooooood. Yum.

Ka Ho'oponopono

Terry O'Quinn & Daniel Dae Kim

Scott Caan & Lauren German

Alex O'Loughlin, Scott Caan & Christopher Cousins

Sam Anderson

The arc involving Joe is getting a bit more complicated and interesting now that he has come clean to McGarrett that he helped carry out a fake death for a member of the Yakuza Family, the same man that he kidnapped a few episodes back with regards to Shelburne. Also of note in this episode was another mini LOST reunion wth Sam Anderson making a cameo, who is better known as Bernard from LOST.
