You would think that the whole thing had become lost somewhere, but Metal Hurlant Chronicles (AKA 'Heavy Metal') is very real. The series is described as follows:

The series has already filmed two seasons that feature 12 half hour long episodes. While the show has found a home to air in France, it has yet to see the light of day in America, though that could change soon.
