I just checked and saw that VH1 is in fact streaming the episodes. I know you don't like watching shows on your computer, but it's an alternative since you can't find them OnDemand.

Breaking Bands

What an emotionally charged episode that sees Linda facilitating the break up of not one, but two bands: Hunter Valentine and Oscar are no more. With Hunter, Linda convinces Aimee to stay in the house as a solo artist, which naturally doesn't sit well with the rest of Hunter. They get so petty that they call their manager, who in turns threatens Aimee by way of proxy that her Work Visa is "terminated", making her stay in the house a moot point. With Oscar, Linda had to cut loose Nick the drummer because he couldn't "cut it". A lot of tears from Aimee, Candace, Angelique and Linda herself. But out of that heartache came a couple of great songs that really cut to the bone. If I were rating these episodes, I'd definitely give this one 10 Stars.

Beautiful Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

What a cool experience they got to have with this episode. It's all about the song Beautiful, which Linda Perry wrote and Christina Aguilera made a hit. The task at hand is that each of the performers still left in the house has to do a cover version of the song and make it their own. The kicker is that they have to record the song live....direct to vinyl with only have a day to work on perfection their version. And, they only get one take. How nerve wracking is that? And how f*cking awesome is it to be given that chance? To have your very own vinyl pressing. So, the promo at the end of the episode says the Season Finale is next. It really sucks that this is only an 8 episode season. I really hope this comes back because it's truly something special to see. To see Linda molding an artist to become something even better is a great thing. As for the contestants, I have no clue who is going to win the contract with Linda, but I will say that the top picks are Aimee, Candice and Anjuli (I spelled her name wrong in the last few post). I will say that Anjuli is kinda on the outside looking in. She's great in taking songs and giving them a unique spin, but she her problem is that she keeps going back to the well, which is something Linda has told her not to do.

Final Performance and One Big Decision

So, every episode opens up with a "Previously on....blah blah blah", then it goes into "Tonight on the Series Finale...." What?! SERIEW FINALE?! This has to be some sort of dialog screw-up. I hope that it is as I really want to see this show survive and thrive for many years to come. Okay, with that out of the way, this episode is the one I have been waiting for. Linda picks a winner. But first, all the remaining acts have to perform live in a showcase in front of a live audience using an original song that they wrote. I thought that 3 out of the 4 nailed it.Absolutely did not care for Hunter Valentines's song. It actually sounded pretty contrived to my ears as if they purposely tried to write a radio friendly song that fails. Okay, for the benefit of Mac and not wanting to ruin it for him, the rest of this post will be in spoiler mode.....

The song is interesting. It's not bad....but it's not great either. One thing I can say 100% for certain is that I hate the video. Why are they trying to basically make it so that she looks like she is still homeless? The idea of "winning" a competition like this is that it changes your life for the better. Also not sure why the name change. Stick with Candice Martello. It's who you are. Duh!

So I'm seeing this first time blind, oblivious to this artist except for she's a product of the Linda Perry Project.

Right off the bad, this song has Linda Perry written all over it. Same dark, slow moving yet emotional pacing.

I was not impressed with the video at all. I didn't take her as homeless but as a struggling street performer.

But the song... has no range. It's pretty much sung in a very monotonous level that goes no where, except for the band picking up at the end. My one tangent thought, a portion of the song would be played on the soundtrack of a movie. I don't think I'd listen to that song solely.
