Never No More

Loved the episode because it has some bite to it. It's more or less a commentary on the state of what the music business is in this day and age of social media and TV shows. On one end of the spectrum, you have Juliette trying to manipulate her record sales by doing a puff piece interview about her childhood to garner sympathy based on her perception of Rayna's accident doing the same for her own sales. It doesn't play out the way Juliette wants when the record label signs a runner-up from a reality TV singing competition. The insult comes later when the new "artist" sings one of Juliette's front of her. Ouch.

The other side of the coin has to do with how music business in general are cutthroat and have no problems poaching artist from one of their own. I never really cared much for the character of Will. But in this case it was interesting watching him having to choose who to sign with: Rayna's record company or Edgehill. He chose wrong. I'm sure Rayna will be there to pick him up once he gets cast aside, but I think the damage (if the writers do it right) could be lasting. Never been a fan of Gunner either, but I thought the song that he sang, especially the lyrical content was spot-on.
