It's All Wrong, but it's All Right

Loved this episode for a lot of reasons. The bulk of the episode centered on song writing as well as the political bullsh*t that comes with being in the music business. I really dug the scenes between Liam and Scarlet and pressing her to really open up and reveal who she is as a person. You can't write a meaningful song if you are refusing to let people see you for YOU. Very eye opening to see how easy it is for a musician to get hooked on drugs, especially when you are under the gun and have to get something down on tape asap.

In a similar arc, Gunner sets out to help Layla write her song and she has NOTHING to say. Also insightful was seeing how Rayna has to basically kiss ass to get shelf space for her impending album and it comes at a price: pushing out Juliette. I'm glad Rayna chose to take the higher road. And speaking of Jules, I totally got a kick out of her basically spitting in the face of the Record Label Boss and refusing to read a prepared statement. Now that she has been dropped because of this, I wonder if Rayna will in fact sign her to Route 66.
