The Mandalorian Teaser Trailer

I'm seriously considering getting Disney+ just for this series alone. Bonus of course will be all the MCU Series on the way as well. But this one in particular is what's going to sell me on getting this streaming service. Tell me you're not pumped for this? I had no idea that Giancarlo Esposito and Carl Weathers were attached to this.

Episode 1 Sneak Peek

And here's the Sneak Peek for Episode 1. I fully expect these vids to get pulled from YouTube sooner, rather than later. Watch while you can.

I'm torn.  On the one hand, it LOOKS pretty cool.  Insofar as it looks like a movie.

However, two things stick out at me that aren't problems... but they kinda rub me the wrong way.  First, the ship looks like the Serenity.  It just looks like any other spaceship.  There's nothing terribly iconic or interesting about it.  It also reminds me of the one from Killjoys.  Two: the line of Crabonite-frozen prisoners.  Yeah, it's a good shot, but that was only ever used once.  It was kind of an odd thing to do at the time, there was no guarantee that Han would survive, and it just happened to be a thing they could do at the location they were at.  This is like... it doesn't gel with me.  It feels more like "here's more of what worked before," which isn't really gripping to me.

ok cool.  I should  get notifications for this thread now!

I KNEW this would happen.  I'd told myself I'd not be getting the Disney channel pay thing (aka Disney Netflix) but also knew...Disney is going to basically destroy Netflix with shows I'd want to see (more) so unless they join forces.

When Disney launches...Netflix will crash and burn.

hahaha

this trailer is really great.  a few small cheesy special effects that don't blend in well...but overall it looks amazing~ !

With the amount of content we will be getting with Star Wars and the MCU spin-offs, I'm surprised that Netflix is still even a thing right now. No one will still be a customer of theirs once Disney+ goes live.

So, I finally just now finished watching the First Season of The Mandalorian and I am very happy with what we got. Love the way the series is being presented. It feels more like the original Star Wars Trilogy than anything that has came after (Prequel Trilogy, Force Awakens Trilogy). The cast is fantastic from Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers make this enjoyable to watching. Unlike other series that I jump into, I actually didn't binge watch this and it was by design that I didn't....or even want to. I wanted to make it last as long as possible. It gave me something to look forward to from week to week and I'm glad I went that route.

So, about Baby Yoda/The Child. This was a big surprise to me when the kid revealed himself to be the main plot of the entire series. It certainly threw me off as I had kind of written my own version of what the series would be. I was way off. I prefer what this series is turning out to be. Personally, I rather get more Star Wars TV Series every year instead of bloated Star Wars films that have lost its way over the years. At least here you get some characterizations instead of a big spectacle that is all eye candy. Not to worry, there is eye candy here too.....but with some meat on them bones. Can't wait for Season 2. My only complaint about Season 1 is that it's only 8 episodes. Really hoping we can get something along the lines of 10-13 Episodes per season moving forward. I give this season 4 1/2 Stars out 5.

PS

The other big shock for me was seeing Giancarlo Esposito's character wielding the Dark Saber. Also another thing I didn't see coming. Wasn't expecting Moff Gideon to even be anywhere near a Dark Saber.

I really loved it too.  I've watched each episode about 3 times.  But I'm taking a break now to let it all soak in.  I liked the episodic nature of the show also.  It worked well and didnt feel rushed.  I'll take this series style anytime when its done this well.  Hats off to John Favreau for kicking so much ass on this.  His direction and vision worked very well!

OMG!

Just got finished watching the Season Finale of Season 2 and the final 10 minutes literally had be breathless. By now EVERYONE has heard that Mark Hamill returns as Luke Skywalker, via De-Aging FX and it left me grinning ear to ear. Having Artoo pop in was the icing on the cake! This moment was, is and will forever be the greatest Star Wars moment since the King of all Star Wars Moments (Luke saving Darth Vader and completing his redemption from Return of the Jedi). Mando taking off his helmet to say goodbye to Grogu left me with tears in my eyes. THIS series and particularly this season has been what I have been wanting and craving since ROTJ came to end. Two trilogies later and it still hadn't given me what I wanted.....until now. I'm a happy boy right now.

As for the rest of Season 2.....AMAZING! So much happening, but up till the Finale, my money on best episode ever was The Jedi, which FINALLY gave us Ahsoka Tano as played by  Rosario Dawson, who was born to play her. She is pitch perfect in the role. I can't wait for her series to drop. And the other BIG news for this season was also the return of the once-thought-killed-off-in-the-dumbest-way-possible category: Boba Fett! F*ck!!!!!! How do you end this Season Finale? Why, you have him go back to Jabba's Palace and assume the throne as his own! Perfect! Can't wait for his series to drop either!

So, what becomes of The Mandalorian? I really don't know where they go now. His entire story arc was driven by protecting and getting Grogu back to his kind and now that Grogu has gone off with Luke, that story is a wrap as far as I can see it. I thought maybe when Ahsoka name-dropped Grand Admiral Thrawn (another WTF moment for me!!!!), I figured that would keep Mando busy with another arc. But with Ahsoka getting her own series, I don't see Thrawn dropping in on The Mandalorian. So much to talk about. But I'm still processing this all in. But man, did Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni deliever!

Mind is going to places I didn't think possible, namely tying up loose ends of Star Wars Rebels. If you haven't seen or watched this series yet....sucks to be you! Look, go watch it. It's absolutely vital that you do because I think we are about to get Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren into the mix given how Ahsoka and Sabine went off to search for Ezra in the final shot of Rebels, who himself has his own connection to Thrawn. You see why my mind is literally crammed full of goodness?

So yeah.....today just happened!
