Okay, what the f*ck did I just do? I've been done with this show since 2009. It had run it's course long before that, but the last few years that I was actually watching this, it was more out of habit than actually wanting to see it. Hell, in the past 5 years where I didn't watch a single episode, I even passed on checking out TRW return to San Diego. Didn't interest me. That brings me to tonight. With nothing on regular TV, I was channel surfing through the On Demand option just to see what was available and saw that Season 29 had just premiered.

This came as a shock as I thought it was cancelled a couple years ago. Nope. So, I checked out the first episode and immediately I hated pretty much every single person on the house, which is what I feel about most of the seasons that I did watch before. This 'cast of roommates' is no different from any previous cast. They all fit a certain stereotype: The dumb blond, the spoiled rich kid, the frat boy, the alpha male, the freaky chick, the quite one. You get the idea. So, as soon as I was done with Episode 1, I had to play episode 2. F*ck! I don't want to go down this rabbit hole again and this season is already flying off the handle. I need a brick wall to slam my head against.

Sigh.

I forgot to mention, the twist for this season is after the first month of filming with the 7 roommates, that's when the producers will bring in their Exes (hence the name Ex-Plosion) to live with them throughout the remainder of the season till filming completes. The 7 roomies don't know anything about this and yes, I need to see the sh*t hit the fan. F*ck!  >:(

Well, it took all of 3 episodes for someone to get kicked out of the house by the rest of the roommates and good riddance. I will admit that Ashley makes for great TV with all the drama she stirs up. But as a person, she is someone that I personally would never get along with. She is beyond toxic. What's funny is that she thinks she is 'all that', but in reality she is the skankiest chick on the show. Ugly....inside and out. Kinda ironic that with this season taking place in SF, you can't help but flashback to the Third Season, which also took place in SF and had the most notorious roommate ever: Puck, who would be the first ever to get booted off The Real World.

Episode 4 was hyped as the 'Day the Exes' moved in. I knew that it would be edited in a way that it doesn't happen till the very end. So, all the drama won't happen for another week. I can see why they did it this way anyway. They needed to reinforce the idea that some of the roommates have serious romances going on with current housemates. So, when the sh*t finally does hit the fan, it's gonna mean something. Well, mean something in the land of 'Reality TV' anyway.

Episode 5. If the intent from the producers of The Real World was to create drama by bringing in the exes.....mission accomplished. It's only one full episode with all 11 roommates (the 12th never showed up) and the tension was immediate right from minute one. This is going to be a unique and fun season to watch play out because as everyone gets comfortable being around the cameras, that when we are going to see some serious sh*t hitting the fan. One thing about one of the exes creeped me out a bit, was Hailey who reminds me of my ex girlfriend from about 12 years ago. They both look exactly alike and it's tripping me out and some of the stuff that Halley was doing in this episode was the same sh*t my ex would do. And seeing the "...later this season" epilogue about what is coming later with the show, showed some of the stuff she reminded me of some of the stuff my ex did. Ugh.

Episode 6. This season has just barely begun and it's the most dysfunctional group of people I've ever seen in The Real World. With a 5 year drought of not watching the show, there might be even more f*cked up people in that time. But I think it would be hard to top having the first batch of roommates trying to juggle their FWB and their exes. With that said, this season is very entertaining because of that 'Train Wreck' mentality we are getting now. Throw in Lauren's positive pregnancy test and you have a recipe for disaster.

Episode 7: An odd episode. Some really strange dynamic working its way through the house. So, Cory's Ex takes a pregnancy test and finds out she's preggo. But it's clear that it's not his as Lauren had been banging someone else before she came on the show. So naturally he is not going to support her and treats her like sh*t for it. The bizarre turn of events, with no one to lean on, Jenny steps in to be that shoulder to cry on. Yes, Jenny, the one that was banging Cory before the exes moved in. Strange things are a foot at the Circle K indeed.......

Episode 8: Fight, fight, fight! Who doesn't love a good blow up on the Real World. That's what every that watches the show is waiting for and we get a doozy here. I loved that Jenny hauled off and slapped the sh*t out of her ex. It was so brutal. She didn't pull her "punch" at all. It even took me by surprised. BAM! As soon as he called her a stupid b*tch, I knew something was going to happen. And no, I'm not on Team Jenny. She is one of the dumbest people on the planet. Fun episode.

Episode 9. More fights, more drama, more ass kicking. This time around it's Hailey slapping the ever loving sh*t out of Thomas. I said earlier that Hailey reminded me of my ex on the looks department. But seeing her go from nice to psychotic, 0-16 in half a second was EXACTLY like my ex. Sh*t, they literally could be twin sisters. It freaked me out to say the least. And no, in case you're wondering my Ex never laid a hand on me. But she did have an extremely volatile temper that would explode when your least expected it.

Episode 10. Another one bites the dust. Hailey quits the show. It's not surprising that the Exes are falling by the wayside. Talk about a house full of dysfunction, which is exactly what the producers of the show were hoping for. But it may be working a little too much if more people start bailing on this season.

Episode 11. Ugh. I can't stand any of the dudes on this show. They are all meatheads and none better to represent this niche is Cory and Brian. They are both D.U.M.B. All season long they have been hyping up the fight that they both get into with each other. The previews made it look like THIS was the episode where it would finally happen. Nope. They tease it all the way to the last scene and just as the haymaker is flying...cue title card: ...to be continued. Ugh!

Episode 12. The Sh*t They Should Have Showed. I've never liked this particular episode they do for each season. It's just a way to pad the season and make it a little bit longer and it doesn't really add anything to the current "narrative".

Episode 13. Final episode and what we were promised all season long...a fight between Cory and Brian in the van....never happens. Bait and switch. It's what MTV is great at. They hype certain things because they know it's gonna get a reaction and get people to tune in. Mission accomplished. The bulk of the episode was boring. It's their last 3 days and it's all about "remembering the good times they shared on the show". Blah blah blah. Only near the end does it get interesting when a drunk Brian goes on a rampage, tearing the house apart. Cory and Brian finally "fight". Well, Cory throws Brian down on the ground and holds him there until security gets there.

Watching this final episode, I remembered why it was that I just lost interest in the show as a whole. By the end of the season, nobody gives a f*ck about who these people are. Nobody cares what is going to happen to them once they leave the show. They are all extremely shallow and lets be honest, have nothing to offer. They are dull, uninteresting, boring people that only know about how to act on TV a certain way to get more screen time. So, it's NEVER real (which I never had any delusions about). With that said, there have been a few memorable seasons that had interesting people (LA, the Original SF, Hawaii come to mind).  Will I ever return to watching The Real World again after a 6 year hiatus? I dunno. The concept for this season was unique by bringing in the Exes. We shall see.....but I won't hold my breath on that one.

Episode 14. Reunion. Simply put, this was a train wreck. As I said in previous post, NOBODY gives a f*ck who they are and what they will ever do in life. They are shallow and don't have a clue about ANYTHING important in life. With that said, I did find it amusing that the housemates called out Jay for being fake on the show. We all knew it, but it was never openly said on the show until now. Also enjoyed people calling out Ashley, who is beyond annoying. Ugly and stupid rolled into one. Hated the host that moderated this Reunion. She is just as dumb as those on the panel.

That's a wrap on the season for me.
