Still

What's the first thing that comes to mind when characters start doing a lot of talking, especially a character like Darryl who hasn't said all that much for 3 1/2 seasons. Suddenly he seems to be giving off one monologue after the other. So naturally, THIS is is swan song episode. THIS is where they are going to kill him. I have never been more on edge and more unnerved watching TWD. After awhile, I figured that the writers were leading us to believe it would be him and that they would in fact turn around and send Beth packing. And then I thought "you know what would be the absolute worst thing they could do here? They are going to kill BOTH of them". Ugh, my stomach was in knots. I kept wishing the episode would get to the damn credits so that I would know both would survive another day. Happy to say, they do. But yeah, this wasn't an easy episode to sit through and all the scary stuff that was playing in my head was far worst than anything that was on the screen. I really liked this episode a lot for that reason alone, as well as getting (finally) more insight into both characters.

Ya know, it's pretty clear that they are going to hook up eventually and of course become attached. Before TWD, this would be called "going steady". After TWD is called....."Surviving". Anyway, whatever you call it, I think it's going to make for a great story line when Darryl finally reunites Carol. Love Triangle! This Soap needs more SUDS!  ;D Gonna go watch Talking Dead now.....

J.B. Smoove was f*cking HILARIOUS on Talking Dead. I've been a fan of his for a long time (ever since Curb Your Enthusiasm). He stole Talking Dead and I knew he would. He was perfect for what the show is about. So much enthusiasm (hey, see what I just did there?  ;) ). I like to see stars getting into a show because they are fans. I don't want to see stars popping up for the sole purpose of hyping something they are working on (I'm talking to you Mindy Kaling!). But yeah, fantastic episode and Norman and Emily was great as well. The hour blew by incredibly fast.

Alone

What a great episode. I loved how the opened and closed the episode, especially with the chosen music to underscore the scenes. Sandwiched in between those scenes were some stellar moments, especially those involving Bob and Sasha in particular. Up till now, I have not really cared much for Sasha and that's only because she has always been on the fringe and never gotten a moment to call her own. We finally get some insight into what makes her tick. But it was Bob that benefited the most. Other than the one episode where it was revealed he was an alcoholic, nothing much was done with him. After tonight's episode, I really like the character more.

Also great was the scenes involving Darryl and Beth. So, they are getting closer (nothing has happened other than holding hands once and him trying to tell her she was the reason why he still thinks their are good people out there) and just when things are going good, they are driven apart (by Walkers of course). The kicker is that Beth is kidnapped. But by who? Who damn it! I want to know! I don't think for one second that Darryl is going to flip and become bad just because he seemingly "joined" the Redneck Gang that surrounded him at the end. He's a ninja doing recon work!!!!!

Episode 14, Probably the most intense, gut wrenching episode yet.

The Grove

People are going to be talking about The Grove for as long as the series continues and then some. I went through a few different emotions watching it. First I was like 'what the f*ck' with regards to both girls and their creepy demeanor. They were already f*cked up, one more than the other. Seeing Lizzie going into meltdown mode about not killing Walkers was just the tip of the iceberg and somewhat expected since she has been giving them names all along. It was great writing that there was a "moment" where she finally got it and chose to kill the Walkers that were invading their camp, where she had to fight to save her sister Mika's life. The writing just went to a whole new level of 'Wow' when we least expect it, with no foresight, Lizzie kills Mika. What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! As soon as I saw that, I knew the die was cast and that she would have to be put down.

With all the sh*t that went down, this was first and foremost Melissa McBride's episode. She owned it as Carol and she nailed the anguish and the guilt that she's been carrying for a long time. I knew 100% that with the added guilt of both Mika and Lizzie that she would finally tell Tyreese the big secret that she's been keeping for so long. What I didn't know is whether or not Carol would live beyond this episode. This is TWD. Nothing is set in stone and popular character's aren't safe. Well, she is....for now. Great scene between her and Tyreese.

Man, watching Talking Dead is sad because everyone on the panel, including Melissa McBride, are talking about the girls as if they really are gone. It's like everyone for that split second has forgotten that this is just a show. Still a great post show and I'm glad they had McBride on. But I was also expecting to see both actresses that played the sisters on as well. Oh well.......

This episode was somewhat of a letdown after last week and I totally expected it to be. How do you top something like what went down last week. Also, having a 4 stories running concurrently at the same time in this one kind of diluted it somewhat. This wasn't a bad episode by any stretch. It was still enjoyable. I did like the reunion between Glenn and Maggie in the tunnel. As for Terminus, how come everyone is so gung ho to head to another "safe haven". Did they not learn anything from the fiasco called Woodbury?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the parallel between Dr. Eugene Porter in TWD and Gene Porter in Revolution. Both are Doctors in the apocalypse.

Getting Scott Wilson to return as Herschel one last time was awesome. It immediately elevated this episode up a notch. Granted, his scenes are  all flashbacks, but who cares. As long as we get one last Herschel fix, I'm all good. Really enjoyed the juxtaposition between the 'Upbeat' scenes of Herschel teaching Rick the art of farming and the darker (really dark that is) scenes set in present day in which Rick isn't the same as he use to be. He's more sadistic when it comes to survival and no other scene best exemplifies this when he has his back against the wall, is unarmed and all can do is literally take a bite out of his aggressors, Joe's neck. YIKES!

With that said, this is all about getting to Terminus. We all knew that it would be another Woodbury. But how would it present itself. What are the people like? How will everything reveal itself and hit the fan? We are still somewhat in the dark, but I like that Rick, Daryl, Carl and Michonne are reunited in the Train Car with Maggie and Glenn. That's the cliffhanger. How are they going to get out of this little predicament? Oh, that's easy. Carol to the rescue! Do I think she will bust them out by the first episode of Season 5? Hell no. I'm sure Rick and company are going to be forced manual labor for a few episodes before they get around to their escape. Can't wait for next season to start.

And yes, I'm pretty sure that the Termites kidnapped Beth, even though we never see her and clearly is not inside the Train Car.

I hope season five is not more of a season of Farm or Prison. The producer said on Talking Dead, 5 will be different than we've seen before.

A lot of stuff to catch up on starting here....

Second half of the season over all very good. -Disclaimer I do think this is some of the best stuff on TV- The Grove what can I say the best. I thought it was going to go one way then the other. The only thing that was worse for me was Carl shooting his mom. Andrea's death surprised me I did not see them killing off the hot chick. THe death of both of -the children of the corn, really Chip- girls caught me off guard. I thought 1 of them would make it. Then Carols confession also.

Beth- I thought I saw a cross in the back window of the car that left with her I think she is back at the mortuary or with their group.

New people 4? of them. Tara- glad to see her join the show, Glen could have just left her there or shot her. I think it shows how you have to do everything you can to survive. Of course Glen is the only one? that knows she is from the governors group. The rest of them how much screen time did they have?

Thats the one issue I have with this show is they only make 16. Then to split the season. To cover 4 or 5 story lines over 8 episodes its too much. I did not like watching and not seeing a major character(s) for 2-3 episodes. I feel they could do a 2 hour finally even 90 min.

Looking forward to next season.
