That was a very good discussion. Some pretty interesting ideas going on there. That's what makes Walking Dead what it is.

This show could have gone the fanboy route and be nothing but gross zombies and fighting and been over in 6 episodes.

Now throw what if elements in. Yes, it gets complicated, but ya know that's what life is and that can very interesting.

Thanks for the post.

Good to see a woman involved too.

I think she is a new addition to the IGN staff. The first I saw of her was during the 3 days of 2013 Comic Con coverage. Since then, she has been popping up regularly. She seems genuine, knows her stuff and has a lot to say about sorts of things related to movies, TV shows and whatnot. I like her.

30 Days Without an Accident

Interesting episode that kinda took me a bit off guard with everything being "serene and idyllic". Well, as happy as one can concievably get in the land of the dead. I think what took me by surprised was how large the cast has gotten. Sure, they are going to become fodder throughout the season, but to see so many people after basically living with the small band of survivors took a bit getting use to. The other thing was, where did all the kids come from? It's just weird seeing any other kid that isn't named Carl.

So, 6-8 months have passed since the end of last season. They have carved out their little community and basically turned the prison into another 'Woodbury'. Speaking of Woodbury, I'm so glad that place is done. I couldn't stand that place anymore and even better, no Governor. I think I enjoyed this episode more because of those two things not being featured. Some gnarly looking walking stuff happening in this one, especially the 'Raining Zombies' sequence. What's the deal with that one black dude that was trapped under the shelf massage and feeling inside that walkers head? Is he some sicko that gets off on this? Yuck.

The ending definitely opens up what this season will become. With the kid getting sick and seemingly dropping dead on the spot and then turning to a Walker, I can only imagine what next week's episode will be. Bloody. So, do we have an airborne virus that made him sick? Or is it bad pork that he may have eaten which contaminated him? I only bring up pork because they highlight the pig that dies. Not sure if the two are in fact connected or I miss something else all together.

It didn’t help the nerdy kid coughed all his undead juices into the open container of water. Holy crap, what did happen to him? Virus’s can mutate. Can they now go airborne? He was preparing food.

What happened to the hog?

We knew Beaver would never make it back. It just seems the show spotlighted that future demise. And Beth was rather creepy, in an undead kind of , with the news of Beav’s death.

Scott Gimple (Writer) was on The Talking Dead, suggesting that every scene is a set up for a future episode. He said, things are going to get very bad and bloody very quickly.

I watched The Talking Dead last night (did avoid spoilers for next week though). I like that Nathan Fillion was just as analytical as we are about the episode.

Infected

I've never been more unnerved watching an episode of TWD as I did with this one. For starters, knowing that there was someone within the walls purposely feeding rats to the Walkers made me uneasy. The idea that there is someone or more that had zero regard for the safety of others and would do that.....ack! But the biggest thing that had me on the edge of my seat was the kid that turned last week and is walking around the cell block looking for a snack. Man, this episode was brutal to watch. A lot of blood and gore. More than I can remember ever seeing on a single episode. The ending also had me wondering as to who torched the two people that were infected. My guess is that it was Glenn.

It's good to see that Rick is back. Happy Rick is just.....odd. Time for him to take the reigns again. Giving that one girl a knife is going to come back and bite Carol in the ass. I don't trust that girl one bit and I'm pretty sure she along with her sister are the ones feeding rats to the walkers.

Isolation

To put it bluntly, I did not like this episode at all. I'll go a step further and say that it was to the point where I began to question whether or not I wanted to continue on with the show. So what could possible be that bad to do that? For starters, it was boring.....and stupid. The writers took a character that was and is a fan favorite and just made her dumb. Why the f*ck would Carol, the one that preaches being prepared suddenly go outside the prison to fix the water hose and to do it alone. What is even dumber than that is her nonchalant attitude with Walkers closing in on her. It just didn't make any sense at all other than the writers "needed to do something". Running out of ideas are we? Her reveal at the end being the murderer wasn't even all that surprising to me. I suspected early on that it was her and not Glenn.

Gotta agree... They really drug this one out.

A couple of gotchas, but otherwise, very lackluster show.

Talking Dead struggled too. Marilyn Manson constantly diverted the show with WTF comments. Jack Osborn, was kinda goofy, agreeing with everything. Gale Ann Hurd, just teasing stuff. Very frustrating hour.
