After

This was a very frustrating, odd and at times boring episode to sit through. Not what I have been waiting all this time for since the mid-season finale. There was just way too much Carl in this one and on top of that, way too much dumb, idiotic Carl. I get that he is p*ssed, but come on dude, some common sense would go a long way here. As for Michonne, her nightmare was very odd and very out of place. Yes, I get that she is having a small, temporary melt-down, but that doesn't change the fact that the nightmare sequence felt like it was shoehorned in. Add to the fact that she is suddenly talking to herself and you have an episode that just felt weird at every turn. The only scene that really connected in any way was when she found Rick and Carl in the house and she's on the verge of tears. Not sure if she was happy that she found them or if it was because the episode was finally over. I hope next week delivers something really good to make up for this one.

The Walking Dead - Season 4 Mid-season Premiere Discussion

They bring up some valid points, but the 'After' episode still wasn't that good IMO.

What? You scared of Zombie?!  ;D

Actually there is one scene that is literally a 'jump out of your seat' scary moment. It's the ONLY time that has ever happened with me on the show where after said moments happens, I could feel the heart racing a little bit faster. Only good thing about the episode for me.

Duh... ya.... zombies.

Do you have ANY idea what it will be like when they rise up? This documentary is just a little taste. This is no Warm Bodies.

Zombies = Scary

I wasn't really looking forward to this episode because of last week and my big concern was that we were set to get a series of episodes focusing on a specific pairing of characters before they all find each other during the Season Finale. This episode didn't start off in a good way either. I did not want to spend an hour with Beth constantly whining the whole time. Thank God her and Darryl's story was completed by the second commercial break, which led into EVERYONE getting their "where are they now" stories. The biggest surprise and one that actually made me go "hell yeah" was the return of Carol. Very glad to see her back. Question though, did Rick ever tell Tyreese who killed his woman? I can't remember if he did. I'm guessing he didn't because his reaction to seeing Carol was happy.

As for the Children of the Corn Girls, I am even more convinced that Lizzie was the one that actually kiiled Tyreese's woman and that Carol took the fall for Lizzie so that she wouldn't be an outcast with the group. Overall, the episode was way better than last weeks, even with the shaky first 10 minutes. And no, seeing that Tyreese has Baby Judith in his arms was not a shock. I always knew that she was alive. But her crying was freaking me out because she was going draw every Walker their way. *Shudders*

After

I dunno... I kind of dug it. Yes it was slow, but dayum the tension in the air and that was just with two people and their inner demons.

I think it was pivotal. Both for Michone and Karl... separately. Lot going on their internally. A lot of bridging back to the beginnings. Kind of let you see a bit of where they came from.

I'm very encouraged as to what's ahead with regards to story telling (Unlike the huge trip and fall that happened with American Horror Story)

Talking Dead for "After" was pretty good too. Guests were Greg Nicotero and Danai Gurira (Michone). Dayum, she is a beautiful woman. Diametrically opposite of her character.

Danai went on and on about her character which bordered on ad nauseum, but then again, she revealed a lot I had not thought about. Especially her thoughts about the Governor.

Funny show too. Nicotero brought in the animatronic head of Hershel to play with.

Talking Dead is also maintaining it's relevance. Definitely recommend watching it right after the episodes if you can.

No, Tyreese still doesn't know. If you can recall the look on Carol's face when Carol and Tyreese come face to face, she definitely has that look "Does he know? What is going to happen next?"

Lizzie is becoming a very freaky presence. Especially for us viewers. We see it. She has not fully blossomed and making herself known to anyone else... yet.

The baby crying is just on-the-edge-of-your-seat tension. I couldn't even imagine having to deal with that, in the open, with death everywhere around. Hellllll No. The Talking Dead made some pretty good funnies about that.

And speaking of the Talking Dead, they ever so briefly discussed where the TV show is compared to the graphic series (about #50 of #152)? Anyway, the discussion very, very briefly talked about a character coming up in the story telling that is ungodly nasty. I was thinking... more than the Governor?

Claimed

Really dug this episode a lot, especially the scenes involving Rick and him trying to navigate around the house with other people inside. Some good tension working it's way through each scene. Even got a "scare" moment when Rick hides in the bathroom only to discover one of the men is taking a dump. Haha. That's some scary.....sh*t.  ;D Really glad that Michael Cudlitz has joined the cast as Abraham Ford. I don't know anything about the character because I stopped reading the series way back in Season 1 so that I would have some surprises waiting for me in the series. But I have always been a fan of Cudlitz. Gonna go watch Talking Dead now as he is suppose to be on it as well as Mindy Kaling.

Agreed. I like Mindy, but she was trying to hard to be cute with everything she said instead of actually giving insightful opinions or comments about the episode.

That was my take away... and Cudlitz didn't engage me that much. Oh well, they can't all be stellar.
