Trilogy (Episode 1,2 & 3)
First Time Again / JSS / Thank You Man, I've been super anxious for
TWD to air
Episode 4 tonight. So much sh*t has already gone down in what is being called the
The Trilogy for
Season 6 and for good reason. It's essentially the same moment in time told from 3 different sets of characters.
Episode 1 was amazing with his non-linear story telling. Totally dug the choice to go with Black and White film for the flashback sequence which was a nice nod to
Night of the Living Dead. By the end of the episode, I had said out loud this was the greatest episode ever for
TWD. WRONG!
I spoke too soon because
Episode 2 would be even better. My thought was that this was going to be a slow episode just in the way it starts off with
Carol watching her neighbor smoking, and then out of nowhere some crazy dude comes into frame hacking away at her with a machete. WTF! I was kind of startled at this sight. From there it's just unrelenting carnage as the people in
Alexandria are overrun by the crazies known as
The Wolves. With an amazing moment for
Carol and eventually
Morgan, I declared this episode to be the greatest ever. WRONG!
Last week in
Episode 3 gave us a couple of shocking moments, one in particular that has had me counting the days until tonight. I'm still shocked at what happens to
Glenn. His outcome is all but assured. There is just no way in hell that
Glenn can survive on his back with a horde of
Walkers feasting on
Nicholas who turned out to be the coward I knew him to be. That's the beauty of what
Glenn represents, that he is able to look past any and all flaws and still give this guy another chance to redeem himself. When he kills himself, I was like 'good riddance'. But when he topples off the top of the dumpster, pulling
Glenn down with him into a sea of
Walkers, I literally shouted out 'What the f*ck, nooooooooooooooooooooooooo". The ending with
Rick taking on the
Wolves and then stuck in a DOA RV with
Walkers closing in on him was another WTF moment.
Yes, I did watch
Talking Dead immediately afterwards and they too were struggling to accept what had just happened and started looking for an out for
Glenn, which is something I started doing immediately as the scene unfolded and have been doing all week.
Glenn falls to the ground with
Nicholas on top of him, with
Glenn's head near the base of the Dumpster. In my 'out' for
Glenn, he shimmies on his back under the Dumpster as he slowly pushes
Nicholas off of him to the feasting
Walker Horde. Yes, it's a shot in the dark and most likely the thing not to happen......but I'm hopeful. I have to believe
Glenn survives because he is one of the four untouchables that can't be killed off. The others being
Rick, Carol and
Daryl. Sigh. Anyways, this
Trilogy is EPIC and I've already watched the first episode 3 times, the second episode 2 times and will most likely watch
Episode 3 again tonight before the big reveal later tonight.
FYI, the people of
Alexandria are f*cking useless!!!!!!
